In April 2025, BetterBusiness Bureau questioned Asset Driven LLC's mailer which states:
- "FINAL ATTEMPT TO NOTIFY"
- "You MUST CALL NOW to activate your cards for the protection of your vehicle to be VALID"
- "EXTREMELY URGENT AND TIME SENSITIVE - THIS IS NOT A BILL"
- "Our records indicate that the manufacturer’s new car warranty may have expired."
- If you choose the zero-dollar deductible, you won’t have any out-of-pocket expenses for covered repairs or labor costs…”
The BBB Code of Advertising states,“The primary responsibility for truthful and non-deceptive advertising restswith the advertiser. Advertisers should be prepared to substantiate anyobjective claims or offers made before publication or broadcast. Uponrequest, they should present such substantiation promptly to the advertisingmedium or BBB. Advertisements which are untrue, misleading, deceptive,fraudulent, falsely disparaging of competitors, or insincere offers to sell,shall not be used. An advertisement as a whole may be misleading byimplication, although every sentence separately considered may be literallytrue. Misrepresentation may result not only from direct statements, butby omitting or obscuring a material fact. In addition, according to theMissouri state statute 15 CSR 60-7.020 (1): “A seller shall not make arepresentation or statement of fact in an advertisement that is false or hasthe capacity to mislead prospective purchasers.
BBB requested thebusiness substantiate, modify, or discontinue, the claims made on its mailer.
