    Start date 6/21/2024 ***** ******** is the General Contractor for *** who did not complete finishing my basement. We signed a contract and all. We have paid $26,000.00 in total. Only 10k was required at the beginning, and an additional 10k was required post framing. He requested 6k in advance after a month of "work" so I did not hesitate to pay since we thought we trusted his work. Days go by and he starts showing up less and less. 2-3 days per week, a few hrs per day. We finally go down stairs to inspect his work and were very dissapointed with the quality. Electrical was not up to code, door frames not leveled and cracking, trim work was poor, gaps all over doors frames and electrical outlets which we believe started with his frame work. ***** proceeded to make excuses telling us everything was normal and continured to blame the floor and walls and the wood HE used. He spent a week or so trying to "fix" issues and in turn just made things worse. We have sent pictures and videos of doors opening and closing by themselves. He then tellls us he has started another job and was sorry he tried fixing the issues and we were still unhappy. It's not about happiness at this point, it's about doing proper work. We should have known better as he did not have the proper tools to even cut the trimming. Everything was jagged, cut poorly and ***** used caulk to hide things from us. Cieeling is uneven. We measured the bathroom ceiling from floor to ceiling and one side was an inch lower creating a sloped look. The main wall is slanted as well and comes out an inch at the top creating a leaning look. Overall, this is probably one of the worst financial mistakes. We hired someone who had no clue what they were doing. He is unfit for the job.
