    I have cataracts and I was suggested to this specific doctor. I went in and he said that the ***************** is offering a study to study the stigma in my eye that would pay for surgery and to monitor me. I said ok, and I was called by the location and was told the study is no longer happening. They offered for me to go to that location, but instead I wanted to go to the newtown location one since it is easier to get to. I was told that my info would be sent to the location. I called them and left a message, but no answer back. Since I wasn&#**;t getting anywhere with newtown, I ended up making an appt with them. Next week I have to go to the ********** location and do so out of pocket. Since the newtown location was paid by my insurance I would have to pay out of pocket.

      I spoke to Ms. ***** **** regarding her complaint.  She was happy with the physician she saw and was happy to participate in the research study that was mentioned to her but the study sponsor discontinued recruiting so she elected to proceed with surgery outside the research study.  Unfortunately, she said she never received a call from ******, the physician's surgery coordinator, despite leaving multiple messages for her.   When I spoke to ******, she said she did call Ms. **** but she did answer so she left a message.

    Ms. **** decided to see a different physician for surgery and does not feel she should have to pay for another eye exam since she already paid her copay to Ophthalmology Consultants at her August eye exam with us.  I told Ms. **** I would ask the billing department to reverse this claim with the insurance company, refunding their payment and hers.  She was happy with this resolution.
