  DO NOT purchase a vehicle from STL Carz. We purchased a 2016 ***** GX on 5/21 only to have it towed on 7/29. Reputable repair shop found blown head gasket and the cooling system riddled with stop leak. After weeks of poor communication, no call backs, and we dont use that product on our vehicles TEXT messages (talk about cowardly) we feel the urgent need to share our experience. **** (owner) refuses any responsibility and we are left with a $15,000+ maintenance bill. The engine is a complete loss. No other mechanic has touched this vehicle except STL Carz.

Before selling any vehicle, we thoroughly inspect it to make sure its in the best condition possible. To be clear, we dont use products like stop leak . We have never used any product like "Stop Leak" nor will we ever use such a product. We take pride in making sure every car we sell is safe and reliable. This vehicle passed Missouri Safety and Emission inspections and was deemed road worthy .We have no way of knowing what maintenance items were or were not done on a vehicle that has been on the road for 8+ years and has done over ******* miles. when we had that vehicle in our possession and when you test drove it, when you took possession of it , and when you drove it for months, the vehicle had no known issues. This vehicle was purchased on 05/09/2024 not 05/21/2024 . It Was purchased AS IS and extended service contracts were declined. That said, we completely understand how frustrating it is to deal with car issues. We really do sympathize with your situation. However, expecting us to take full responsibility for a vehicle thats been on the road for 90 days after the sale just isnt fair. We tried to offer some solutions, but it seems like those options werent something you wanted to explore and you were set on either you Pay for a new engine or this conversation is over. Were always open to a fair and reasonable conversation. Weve built our business on trust and doing right by our customers, and we stand by that. Were sorry we couldnt come to an agreement, but we hope that you can also understand our position.
