Falkner Plumbing came to my house on Tuesday, September 6th to install a new faucet in the master bathroom. They arrived around 10:15 am. They bent the face plate and a drain stopper (long, narrow piece of metal to help with the stopper in the sink). They explained my vanity top was old and the new faucet was not installing correctly. I guess they used extra force to install the faucet because the face plate & drain stopper was bent. Before the technicians left, they were very nice and said they would order "cock" plates to cover up the 2 holes in my vanity (because the face plate would not fit properly). The tech got them on order and offered to pay and install them for free. After the techs left, I noticed a line on the vanity top. At first, it looked like dirt. The closer I looked, it was actually a 6" chip/crack in the vanity top. Nobody was in my house after they left.

I contacted the owner and of course they denied chipping my vanity top. They said the faucet work was done beneath the sink and his techs did not damage the top. How is this so? The faucet sits on top of the vanity. Work was done on top and their tools were on top of the vanity. The owner said he is sending me my check back. I asked why, because now I need a vanity top replacement AND a new faucet since the faceplate is bent and the faucet needs installed on the new vanity. The owner thinks my $265 check is making it right. To replace a vanity, with 2 side splashes, with a cheap vanity top, and 3 hours labor to remove/install will cost me $1,100. My check for $265 does not cover their damages to my vanity top and faucet. And, they didn't install the stopper right. I can't even get the drain stopper out of the sink now.

Customer called the morning of Sept 7th and said that her vanity top had been damaged during a bathroom faucet installation the previous day. The customer's call was promptly returned that morning and we listened to customer explain the issue with the vanity top.  We offered to come out that morning to inspect the vanity top for ourselves and work out a solution. The customer was very hesitant and ultimately did not want the owners to come see the damage firsthand but insisted on sending a picture of the vanity top.  Pictures of the issues were sent via text message to the owners for examination. The customer then called one of the owner's cell phones and ask what we had determined. It was tough to tell just from a picture how the damage might have occurred. When the damage was questioned the customer became extremely angry calling us "Liars" and demanding we send $1100 or she was calling the police and having us "Charged with destruction of property." She berated us for 5 minutes straight and never gave us a chance to respond then hung up on us. We offered to refund the money that the customer had paid for the service call even though she had signed the receipt stating that she was happy with the work performed but she had no interest in that, she only wanted $1100 or else! It was just a red flag that the customer was against us seeing the damage in person and then demand money based on a photograph.
