I am enrolled as an *** student at the college. I am also a recipient of a WIOA ***** that covers a big portion of my funding. A couple of months ago I was told I was eligible for a stipend payment around $1800. A few weeks later I spoke with ****** ****** about why the payment was reduced to $946 on my account ledger. She explained that I would get more next semester after the payment was made to the school. The payment was made in the first week of November 2024. I have called and asked several times about when I can get the payment and my requests have been forwarded and never resolved. Unfortunately, several of my classmates are in the same situation with the school and they are holding onto our money. On December 7th I emailed ****** about getting a timeline for the payment. On the 10th she replied and stated that she had forwarded my email to the business office. I still don't have a timeline or any correspondence and feel they are holding onto our money without cause.

Thank for giving us the opportunity to respond directly to this complaint.  We strive to help students in anyway possible to ensure they feel they are having their needs met.  I have reached out to our ******************** and received the following information to help clarify the issue. I was informed that the student ***** ******* picked up his stipend on Thursday, December 19th, 2024 at our City Campus location.  This was not federal funding but from an outside source (WIOA). The student did not receive the full amount was because the student was past due on agreed payments from their signed Credit Balance Authorization form for funds to be applied to payments that are in arrears.

I have reviewed the business' response and am rejecting it because:  schools are supposed to refund any balances, especially when federal student aid comes into play, within 14 days to the student.  The inability of the school to provide a reasonable timeline for the distribution of this money is unacceptable.  I will file a complaint with federal student aid and the *******************
