    April 6, 2024 I was previously told by *********************** that the fee would be $200, $250 or $400.

    ******************************* is an associate of mine from the St *************** of tennis player for which I have been a part of for over forty years. ****** and I are both coaches for youth tennis players providing them exposure to the game at area high schools and community centers in urban metropolitan areas of *********  As a 43 year professional tax practitioner, ****** and I were having hors d'oeuvres and drinks at ******** Restaurant in ************  When our discussion came to taxes, she did ask what were my prices for preparation.  Without seeing what work and forms were needed for her preparation I did say around 400 or so because I knew she had like my self a schedule C for her coaching a high school team in our area. That price would include the 1040 and the schedule C.  ****** brought her documents to me at a tennis party we both attended and I took them for review when I got to my office the following Monday. After my initial review for an hour, I asked ****** to come into the office so we could through her documents to finalized her return. During the hour and a half I thoroughly went though her documents gathering any missing information. I also explained that as I added additional forms to her return the additional deductions would more than pay for the forms themself.  In her situation I added the scheduled A, E and a recreated depreciation schedule for the missing depreciation of her rental property.

    After completion of her return, I gave her a 10% discount for the forms used in her return.  There was no charge for the 2.5 hours of consultation with her in person.  With the care I gave her with my reasonable pricing for someone of my experience and longevity in a tax career, I was shocked to received a complaint from her.  I presented my bill with a discount for my service and did no charge for my time spent.  I've attached my bill that indicates what I've tried to communicate the best I how.  From my perspective I don't owe any refund for services rendered.
