Company was used for a second time in a home flood clean up in July 2024. MSD back filled our home with sewage for the third time in ten years. At the first instance, MSD provided Midwest Flood Restoration, as working partner in these instances. Midwest Flood Restoration does not show or disclose prices/pricing upfront. The first time, in 2014, MSD paid us for the damages, and paid Midwest Flood Restoration for the work they performed in my home, totaling ********.This time, in 2024, Midwest Flood Restoration is billing me $10,538.69 for the work they performed in my home. Upon receiving this bill, we immediately called to negotiate a lower price for the following reasons:1.) There are line items we were charged for, that were not used.2) This time, they notified me how busy they were at the moment, but that they thought they could manage. They showed up the next day, and dropped off two laborers, one of the two gentlemen notified us that he was a per day laborer. As a concerned homeowner, who has been through this situation before, I helped removing wet debris from my home with the workers. This was for two days. 8 hours of labor per day, for two days.3) They refused to take off the charges for the removal of the debris from my property: the labor involved, the charge for the waste container itself, and the trash dump disposal fee. (We did this as homeowners, while trying to negotiate costs.4) They demanded payment in full, refusing any partial payments.Upon notifying Midwest Flood that we were going to have to try to sue MSD for damages, they notified us they would not be negotiating prices, and that payment in full is expected or they will sue us.

My name is ******* ****** I am the General manager at Midwest Flood Restoration. I have reviewed this account and the notes pertaining to this file and these are my findings. First of all *** does not provide any company for restoration services. In addition Our prices are from software known as Xactimate which MSD'S adjusting company and every other major insurance company use for their pricing schedule. We do not make up our own prices they are dictated to us by the software that is used. Yes we did do a job Ten years ago for the Strouds, but all prices go up especially in the service industry. The job was done on July 17th 2024 and at that time you told me that MSD was paying for it.. On September 3rd I spoke with you and you told me about the trash disposal and at that time I said if you wanted to remove the trash yourself I would remove this from the bill. As far as any labor that you did we did not ask you to do that and did not charge for the time you spent doing that. There was always a full time Midwest employee on your jobsite. We do use temp labor during high volume (rain or freezing events ) as does every major restoration company, but we still the job to a high standard as is stated in the signed completion certificate I have that says great job written by the Strouds. I then informed the Strouds that I could lower the price even more to help them out if MSD wasn't paying the whole bill. At that time I also explained that whatever settlement that we came upon had to be concluded by December 17th as we can only finance jobs at Zero percent interest up to Five months. I then called them Twice in October and November to settle this claim. I received no response. I then sent a lien notice to the Strouds on December Tenth explaining that there was only one week left to settle this claim. I then received a call and Mr. ****** informed me that they were having to sue MSD and he did not have the money to pay us. That is what happen.  We are willing to take off the trash disposal and discount the job a little bit to help out which most companies will not do. To date we have not received any payment of any kind for the work that we did and were told that they will not be paying any money until they settle this with MSD. These type of situations can take years to resolve and we can not be expected to wait years to be paid for a job we did Six months ago. If they have the money to settle I would be more than happy to lower the price and take off the trash portion of the bill just like I offered back in September. I can be reached at **************.

I paid the company $5000 and requested a written bill. the worker told me I would get a bill by 5 PM on Oct 31. No bill. I called the manager who said he could not get me a bill til Friday or Saturday. It is now Sunday. NO BILL>. I just need an ill for tax purposes. What is so difficult? They told me what I owed.

My basement had a sewer backup on August 4. Initial water mitigation was August 6. A week later there was still a terrible stench in my house. The company sent a second crew on August 13. The 2nd crew said the initial crew did not do under the shower nor under the **** system, which was the reason for the smell. The large number of complaints I have are as follows: 1. The initial crew threw the contents of my basement in a large messy pile on my driveway (photo). 2, Left a cigarette on my garage floor (photo)3. Peeled paint off my newly painted kitchen wall (photo)4. Put a dent in my door frame (photo)5. During cleanup, they spilled paint on my driveway and on the road (2 photos)6. Left trash in my basement (photo).7. After both crews left, I moved my freezer to find it was not cleaned under at all (photo). Under a shelf was not cleaned under either.8. Initial crew made us believe that nothing was salvageable from the basement. This doesn't sound like a homeowner should pay $5,000 + for a service like this.
