Cancel contract within the three days that the State of Missouri allows a consumer to. This contractor refuses to Honor the Law. After Bringing in another flooring company, to find that this company over charge me for 134 feet more then I was having replaced. This is when the Owner/Rep started to get angry, when I let him know what I had discovered and that I would not be needed his service.

They completed my downstairs hardwood floor and base boards, they did ok job. Sometime later I noticed a loud and annoying squeaky noises, tried to contact them to come over and fix it and I would even pay for it. After several text messages I received a response that theyre out of town for a month. After about 6 weeks I tried to contact them again and received no reply.

I have absolutely nothing good to say about the experience I had with this company. The contract is a scam, and it's based solely upon what their opinion of a finished job is. Their opinion of tiling a wall, is to apply tile to a surface. It doesn't include applying molding around the tile, or properly sealing the tile. A lot of the work will need to be redone as well. I have found areas where the tile creaks, which means it will crack within a year or so. They also provide you with no way to plan anything. They will tell you that they'll coordinate with you so that you can contact a plumber while a wall is exposed, and then finish the entire wall in a day without telling you. The main guy, ***, has 0 communication skills, and his workers don't speak English. Once you've signed this contract, you are screwed. The fine print says that if it goes to court, YOU are liable to pay for their court fees, and boy do they take advantage of that one. You also have to double check everything they do. They were about to install tile on an exterior wall without using any kind of insulation. When I asked *** if he planned on using it, he yelled at me. I had to tell him that he's either going to use it, or he's leaving and we're going to court. As a result, he put in insulation without protecting it from the elements. I had to get up on the roof and frantically complete that part of the job. I was aware that they weren't going to do anything from the outside, but I was also told that I'd be allowed time to get another contractor on it. The project was delayed a week due to their incompetence with scheduling, and then they finished half a week early, so coordinating with a 3rd party was never really an option. They also broke the handle for cold water on the tub upstairs. We don't have working bathrooms. I will include our sms conversation, along with photos. I have videos where I'm walking on the tile and it creaks, but BBB doesn't accept the right file type.

On Dec 2nd, I spoke with *** ******* of CVM Enterprises. As specified on his website, his company specializes in multiple flooring types including Luxury Vinyl Flooring.
All floors had been prepped by me (e.g. existing flooring had been removed), materials were onsite, and there was roughly 500 ft^2 to be completed. Pictures and a video of the house were sent to Mr. *******. After discussing the job in detail, I explained I had pulled off some of the baseboards to get the flooring closer to the wall and planned on reinstalling the baseboards later. Mr. ******* agreed he would pull baseboards as needed and I would reinstall these later.
After many missed time windows on Dec 3, a CVM worker arrived at the house on Dec 4.
At ~1800 on Dec 4, I received grainy pictures and videos of the job. I paid the remaining amount owed for this project. Being out of town, I had to trust the pictures and CVM’s high online rating, that the job was completed satisfactorily.
On Dec 12th I returned home and there were obvious issues with the work performed by CVM. I called Mr. ******* immediately, but he was not available. We continued to chat via text, sending him pictures of my concerns. The baseboards had not been removed and there were significant gaps as a result (up to ½”). Finally, all of the flooring I purchased was gone except for scraps from before the job was started.
I followed up with Mr. ******* again on Dec 28 by phone. He wanted to review the pictures again and promised to call me back. A text message was received 1/2/2023, indicating he was not responsible for my poorly installed flooring. I responded with a lengthy text message but have had no response as of 1/8/2023.
I’d prefer a refund for the work. There is no indication CVM will address the flooring issues and I’m not sure I want them back in my house. While some of the flooring is ok, I will need to remove the baseboards to correct issues left by CVM. If needed, I can provide all pictures and communications.

      Business Response

      Date: 01/27/2023

I performed 100 percent of what was on contract, and the customer was suppose to remove and install base board, but he did not remove the base boards.  So, we did our job 100 percent based on what was on the contract.  Customer has no right to complain when he did not do his part before we arrived to the job site.  After driving almost two hours we did what we could do on our end per contract.  Maybe the customer doesn't know much about flooring but you can't install anything against the stones in the fireplace.

      Customer Answer

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

The response from the CVM is
a complete fabrication. I stand by my original submitted complaint (OSC), but will
      address points in CVM’s response.

      We discussed the baseboards
being taken off to have the floor terminate closer to the wall via phone and
text. Mr. ******* said it would not be a problem and they would take off
the baseboards if needed. At no point during the scoping call or texts was
there any conversation about me removing baseboards. There was nothing in
the contract stating that the homeowner would be taking off baseboards prior to
install. If there were, I would have removed them. Please refer to screen shot
of text exchange provided in OSC.

      If Mr. *******’s statement
was true, upon CVM’s arrival at my home I should have been informed the job
site was inadequately prepped per the contract. I should have been asked for
compensation to perform this work and/or the job would not be started. Instead,
I received no phone call stating such and the resulting work performed by CVM
      was unacceptable.

I’m uncertain why there is a
focus on the flooring around the fireplace as there are multiple issues with the
work performed by CVM. My preferred method to install flooring around a
fireplace is to undercut the stone and tuck the flooring under the masonry. As
this item was not discussed in detail, I can understand why this wasn’t
performed to my liking. The work by CVM resulted in gapping between where the
floor terminates and the edge of the fireplace is unacceptable. Reference
pictures attached to OSC to understand the quality of CVM’s work.

      I’m not sure of the
relevance of driving two hours. Prior to any work being completed, there was
not any discussion of my address being out of CVM’s service radius or that the
distance would be an issue. I feel this statement distracts from the
overarching issue of the quality of work performed.

      I
would be more than happy to provide all texts exchanges as this was the primary
      tool used to communicate.

      Sincerely,

      ******* ******
