I paid for a 2022 service agreement which states in their contract that Meyer will service the residential unit of the signee twice a year. Meyer has completed one of the visits. A Meyer employee informed me in June that they will not honor the second half of the contract unless I can find proof of that paid bill from over 1 year ago that they now cannot locate. They lost the bill, not I, yet Meyer asked me if I would like to sign up for the 2022 service agreement & I agreed & paid them for another year, the 2022 contract. If Meyer failed to find the record of a payment for a previous job or felt as though they were never paid for a previous job, then why would any additional services or future contracts have commenced or been solicited by Meyer to sign up for? Plain and simple. Meyer Heating and Air FAILED to fulfill their service agreement and informed me that they are keeping the money and have no plans of fulfilling the contract. I do not trust Meyer Heating & Air.

    Business Response

    Date: 09/12/2022

On 05/05/2021 the owner ******* ***** ran a clean and check on ***** ******'s unit. ***** complained of airflow not blowing very well through the system and temperature not getting down to where he had it set at. After performing the clean and check over the unit the technician determined the unit was low on refrigerant. He added refrigerant and ordered a filter for the customer. ***** had to leave to go to an appointment before the technician was completely done with the repairs. The technician told ***** he could just email him the bill with a link to pay online. We started sending him emails on this day to pay the bill.

***** has been a customer since 2016. We assumed he would pay the bill so we didn't think it would be a problem to schedule a clean and check on 12/2/2021. The technician on that call performed the clean and check and established a new service agreement. The technician was unaware of the other bill that was still outstanding.

The office has reached out to ***** many times via calls and emails. He has stated that he paid the bill already. We have asked him to provide us a copy of his bank or credit card statement showing this amount was paid to us. He has NOT provided this to us. I have personally explained to ***** that we will not do any more work for him until he pays the bill or shows us the statement that it's been paid. He has not done either of this as of 09/12/2022.

    Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:
What was described above is not exactly what happened. When the employee offered me the extension contract, they actually called me on the phone before ever coming to my house and reminded me that my service contract was expiring. This same employee brought up the bill in question because they said they were asked about it from management and set the contract up anyway. As far as the allegation of not producing payment for a bill that Meyer does not have or cannot find, again I have always paid my bill at the time of service. I also have the email from MEYER which states they have no intention of fulfilling the contract that was signed by both parties. The card that was used has since been cancelled and I have reached out to credit card company to see if it can be retrieved.  Regardless of this issue or the financial outcome, I DO NOT trust MEYER AIR to come back into my home.

    Sincerely,
