I used them last year, and was not satisfied. So I found a new service provider. I signed a specific contact for services last year, that was done. I never discussed renewing the service. Then, on their own, they enrolled me in a fixed price plan and started billing me monthly. I notified them right away that I did not order the service and was not interested. They acknowledged but have continued to bill me. Now showing Im past due and threatening collections. Its ridiculous.Business Response

Dear Mr. ****************** you for bringing this matter to our attention. We sincerely apologize for any frustration or confusion you've experienced.
We understand that you were not satisfied with our service last year and chose to go with a different provider. While we regret that our work did not meet your expectations, we respect your decision.
Regarding the recent billing issue: it appears there may have been a miscommunication or error in our system that led to your automatic enrollment in a fixed-price renewal plan. While some of our seasonal service agreements do include automatic renewal clauses to ensure uninterrupted service, we also acknowledge your statement that you did not agree to or authorize any renewal in this case.
Once you notified us that you did not wish to continue, we should have promptly and fully canceled the renewal and any associated billing. If our records show continued invoicing or past due notices after your cancellation request, we sincerely apologize for the oversight.
To resolve this:
We have immediately stopped any further billing to your account.
All charges since your original cancellation request will be voided.
Any past due notices or collection actions related to this issue will be withdrawn. You will receive written confirmation of these actions shortly. We are also reviewing our internal processes to prevent similar issues in the future. Again, we apologize for the inconvenience this has caused and appreciate your patience. If you have any additional questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact us directly.

Quiet Village proposed completing this project in Spring of 2025, as the remaining work is for grass seed and straw covering - which would have a higher success rate if performed in the Spring, rather than at the time of the yard filling and slight leveling done in October of 2024. We had every intention of completing this project this Spring, as acknowledged in Mr. ******** filing - but are in agreement to void the remaining balance and consider our work complete, so he can pursue alternative options for the seed application.Customer Answer

I have enclosed email correspondence I've had with Quiet Village Landscaping.
Proposal was accepted and a check for $1,339.49 was mailed on 9/11/24. On October 2nd, five large rocks were installed and a small amount of soil spread along the neighbor's driveway and in the center of my front yard. The area along the side of the house into the back yard was not done.
I had expected them to return and complete the job but after a few weeks, I only received an invoice for the remaining payment. I informed them of my reservations on paying the balance without the job being completed. The original estimator came to look at the project on November 6th. He agreed that it was not complete and would arrange to have finished. I have not heard anything more since 11/11/2024 but have received two additional invoices.

I was looking for a company to shut off my sprinkler system and fix one sprinkler head.
I had heard of Quite Village. I called and spoke to a very nice and thorough female receptionist. I told her that we needed to get the sprinkler turned off for the fall /winter. She told me the price was $100. That someone would call me in a day or two to set a day and time (range)
I never got a call. three days later I got a text late in the afternoon from a company employee. he said we’ll come thursday afternoon. Wednesday late he canceled. For thursday.
He texted and he said he’d be buy sometime the next day. I can’t mmuicated that did not work
He still shows up mid morning as my wife was leaving for a trip. she told him he needs to schedule an appt and can’t just show up.
2 weeks later we get a bill. We are charged $100. I call and speak to the receptionist. She transfers me to accounting. I leave a message. No call back. Some guy calls me I have to pay for a service not reandered.
I think this is a scam. They come anytime during the day and if you are not there they charge $100
I should not be required to pay $100 for any real communication from this company.
This may work for a family that has a stay at home parent but not for a family with 2 working parents.Business Response

Dear ****,
We appreciate you taking the time to share your recent experience with Quiet Village Landscaping. We understand your concerns and would like to address the situation you described.
On 8/21, we communicated with you regarding the scheduled technician visit, and we expressed our concerns about sending a technician out on that day due to extreme heat conditions. We offered to reschedule the appointment for later in the week, taking into account the safety of our technicians. In response, you expressed your preference to wait and requested that we call to reschedule the appointment with you.
Subsequently, we made several attempts to reach you via phone on 8/22 and 8/23, but unfortunately we were unable to establish contact. However, on 8/23, we made the decision to send a technician to your property in an effort to address your request. Unfortunately, no one was home at the time, and the technician could not perform the services you had requested.
We understand that this situation was not ideal, and for that, we sincerely empathize with any inconvenience you may have experienced. Our priority is the safety of our technicians, which is why we exercise caution during extreme weather conditions. Your feedback is essential to improving our service.
On 9/6 at 12:14pm we made another attempt to contact you to address your concerns and reschedule your appointment, but were unfortunately unable to reach you once again. In response to your concerns, we want to assure you that we have taken the necessary steps to rectify the situation. We have reversed the $75 charge as of 9/6, which is our standard fee applied when the homeowner is not available for the appointment. This charge was erroneously applied in your case, and we deeply regret any frustration this may have caused. Our commitment is to ensure your complete satisfaction, and we appreciate your patience and understanding as we resolve this matter. You do not currently have any outstanding charges due.Our aim is to provide a positive experience for all our customers, and we are continuously working to ensure better communication and service delivery in the future.
If you have any further questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to our customer service team. We are committed to ensuring that your experience with Quiet Village Landscaping is satisfactory in the future.
Thank you for your understanding, and we look forward to the opportunity to serve you better in the future.
Sincerely,

Dear Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response from Quiet Village Landscaping.
It is not true that they origianlly proposed a more expensive solution. They bid on doing the dry creek AND removing bushes and installing a sidewalk on the side of the ********* declined that portion of the proposal.
However,Although I am not satisfied by their response, I am satisfied with the resolution. Yesterday a tem from Quiet Village acame and actually tested the dry creek, including testing the levels (which *** could have done early on) and determined that it needed changes, which they completed. I am now satisfied that they have done their best to fix it. So I would like to close the complaint.
Thank you. Sincerely, ********************************

Dear ********,
Thank you for bringing your concerns to our attention through the Better Business Bureau. We appreciate the opportunity to address the issues you have raised regarding our water mitigation services.
At our company, we are dedicated to providing effective solutions for water management, including land modifications, installation of rain gardens, dry creeks, and other relevant drainage systems. It is important to note that while we strive to improve the situation, we cannot completely eliminate water. Our expertise lies in diverting water to the extent permitted by the available space and the budget constraints provided.
One of the methods we employ, such as a French drain or a dry creek, can significantly enhance the situation by redirecting a substantial volume of water. However, even larger structures like concrete culverts with 36-inch drain pipes can be overwhelmed during severe rain storms common in the ********* area. In your case, we proposed a more expensive solution that could handle even greater water volumes. However, you made a wise decision to approach the issue gradually, taking smaller steps toward achieving a resolution. Your current installation is functioning properly and does divert a significant amount of water. A more expensive solution would divert even more.
In many situations, it is possible to implement various components that provide sufficient water mitigation, effectively resolving the issue for most circumstances. We understand that every situation is unique, and we strive to tailor our solutions to best meet the specific needs and budget of each of our clients.
We regret any inconvenience or misunderstanding that *** have arisen during the process. We are committed to customer satisfaction and would be more than willing to further discuss your concerns and explore any potential avenues for improvement.
Please feel free to contact us directly at ************ to address any additional questions or concerns you *** have. We value your feedback and are dedicated to providing the best possible service to our clients.
Thank you again for bringing this matter to our attention.
Sincerely,
*************************Quiet Village Landscaping
