Modern Moving Solutions was hired in mid-November of 2024 to move our furniture from a home in ************** to a home in ****************. In the process, they broke a wood bench. They took the bench to repair themselves and said it would be returned within a week. It was not returned until December 9th. The repair looked like it had been done by a 7th grader with ******* glue. On December 10th, MM said it would pay for the repair. On January 14, 2025, I sent MM an invoice for $300 from Workbench Furniture for the repair. MM said they would "get a check in the mail!".On January 28th, I advised MM I had not received a check. MM said a check had been mailed but that MM would be "happy to drop a check in a mailbox" if I could send the address. I resent the address of the home to where they moved us and dropped off the poorly repaired ******** has been another two weeks and we still have not received the check. The failure to deliver a promised check for damaged furniture is similar to other complaints I've seen regarding this moving company. We would have repaired the bench ourselves without asking for payment from MM had MM not taken it with them to try to repair it. Their actions made the repair more expensive than had they done nothing to it.I have only communicated with MM through text messages which can be made available upon request.

Paid this company $7000 to pack and move. They left a $400 chair, $1500 bow flex, they left family photos, an antique scooter and misc other items. They broke an entire box of glassware. Did not put things back together or remove plastic wrap. I paid as promised and tried to work this out to no avail.

We have tried resolving this issue with the client who left the job site without letting us know what is going and what is staying. After being notified that things were left behind, we offered to go back out to the job site and remove everything left behind, were met with a firm NO because they were locked out by the new owner, yet they hired cleaners to go the following week to clean up and take out a chair.  We offered monetary compensation and were met by threats of lawsuits and verbal insults. The client signed contracts at the end of each day of this move acknowledging services were completed and satisfactory. We take pride in remedying any issue with our clients even if it goes against our contract but when we are met with verbal insults and no cooperation to resolve issues that arise with our clients we are left with nothing else to fall back on but our contract.

No they did not try to resolve it. They were going to pay for the chair and never did. That is why we waited to contact the **** thinking this company would do what was right. Nothing was staying. The house was sold and with the exception of the appliances all had to go. This company was contracted to pack everything and move it. We left but had someone there because we had to attend the closing. Of the property we were moving too. The cleaner was a pre arranged and contracted by the new owner but paid by me. I no longer had access to the house. Yes they offered but never followed through, yes my next step is an attorney. And the only insult was him over hearing my partner call him a liar because he said he tried to call and he absolutely did NOT. I signed, trusting them. I didn’t know until later that so many thing were left behind. Thank you, ***** *******

Modern Moving Company owes us money for the damages done to our furniture and two homes. *****, the CEO, said in his March 29th text message that the check was printed out and mailed to us on Monday, March 27th and asked us to wait a day or two to receive it. It is now April 3rd and still no check. We want our check.

    Dear *** *****,

This issue was resolved upon the customers request. This customer is a “Scam artist” trying to get additional money off his bill. This customer kicked and screamed until he got his way, putting a small business out thousands of dollars. As a company, we understand mistakes happen during moving. That is why we try to resolve these issues as fast as we can. This customer pushed back on every solution we handed him. He threatened our families, cussed us out, and eventually wrote this review until he got his love for almost free! We hope that our current reviews and our overall 5 star rating across every platform shows that we are the complete opposite of what this client has wrote.
