    I went out alone and ordered a couple of drinks. I was shocked when my receipt was presented and there was a 20%automatic gratuity. I asked the server to exclude it and I will tip what I was comfortable with, They stated they are unable to change the receipt since the charge is included on the *** system. I was never informed of this charge beforehand. I reached out to the business via email and asked for an explanation and there was no response. I am asking BBB to look into the legal basis of mandatory tips and the current guidelines that have been set for businesses.Thanks.

    Customers have the right to refuse automatic gratuity although highly suggested for the service our staff provides.  I have personally tried to reach out to this individual without my attempts being returned.  As I said in a message if the customer brings in a receipt during any business hours we will refund the gratuity.  Moving forward the customer needs to understand that auto gratuity is added to every check and all not required it is highly suggested.
