Received a post card attached claiming that I am behind on my mortgage to solicit a phone call from me. There is no business named but the return address indicates this business. I assume they are trying to trick me into selling them my home given the business name American Homebuyers.I am current on all of my bills. This was clearly a deception and I would like them to cease deceptive marketing scare tactics. A less cautious consumer may have fell prey to this business and sold their home for less than it is worth.

To Whom It May **************************** We received a complaint from the Better Business Bureau office in regard to a complaint filed by a Mr ******************* (Complaint ID: **********. We have reviewed the complaint and respectfully disagree with **************. We actively help homeowners who are in a foreclosure situation either by buying the property outright or helping them negotiate a short sale with their lender. We sent our postcard to the customer from a list broker that we purchased from a company called Data List Leaders. This postcard template has been approved by our local Better Business Bureau.

Not every name of the list is going to be accurate, and some homeowners  will receive our postcard when it does not apply. This is the case with all companies that implement any form of direct mail marketing. We have never mailed to this particular list before, so we were not aware that potential customers were receiving this postcard when they were not behind on mortgage payments.

We have currently stopped mailing to that list as we are re-working the verbiage on the postcard by adding a disclaimer to the postcard letting recipients know to disregard the postcard if it does not apply. It is never our intention to deceit or mislead a potential customer. Plus, our company name is not American Homebuyers, we are St Louis Homebuyers, LLC. We have removed ************* from the mailing list, and we do apologize for any confusion and any problems this may have caused.
