I bought some tires from Wedge on July 27, 2022 and went back on January 27, 2023. They said I had a 2 year warranty on the tires. I went back and he said all 4 tires were bad. When they finished he said I have 6 months warranty on the tires. I paid $700 for the tires and only had a short warranty on them. He knew the tires were not good. If I was a man, I told him, you would exchange these tires but since I am a woman, he would not change the tires out. They wore so bad for having them for only 6 months.

    *********

First off. here at Wedge Tire we strive to give our best customer service to anyone, regardless of their gender. Our reputation in the community and our online presence will show this as well. The tire you purchased was the ********* ***** ****** ***, which is a 70,000 mile rated tire, and does come with a road hazard warranty. I have listed below a link to the tire from the manufacturers website, listing that it does indeed have a 2 year road hazard warranty, but that is also dependent on the amount of tread worn off of the tire, 3/32nds of tread to be exact.

    *********************************************

If your tires were worn past the 3/32nds of tread, whether it was 2 months or a year and 11 months, the 2 year part of that warranty is irrelevant and non-applicable to any kind of replacement. There are many factors that could cause the tires to be worn improperly, could be due to lack of rotation, or that the vehicle had something wrong mechanically that caused the tires to wear irregularly, which neither of those are guaranteed for replacement, for it is due to customer negligence.

These are very good tires, they are actually produced and are used as original equipment (O.E.) on ******** *** ***** *** *** vehicles, and we have been a Nexen dealer here for over 10 years without any issues from the tires themselves.

    Thank you,

    Wedge Tire Customer Service

I am rejecting this response because:Wedge Tire is not being truthful about the warranty that I received. I was only given a ***** Roadside Assistance and told I had a 3 year warranty for my tires. I was not given anything in writing for the warranty besides the Roadside Assistance. They knew when I purchased the tires that they were bad and made all these guarantees of replacement if necessary, but now it's a different story.  I don't even understand what is meant by 3/32nd thread. And that was never explained to me before.

    Sincerely,

    Willesta Dorsey

    To whom it may concern,

Ms. ****** was informed of the ***** Tire Warranty when she purchased her tires on 7/27/2022, which is confirmed by her own statements that she has written in both of the prior complaints she has posted about this matter. She was told she had a 2 year warranty on her initial complaint dated 2/17/2023, and on her response dated 2/22/2023 she admitted knowledge and even provided documentation that was given to her at time of purchase of the 3 year Roadside assistance. These statements verify without any doubt that she was well informed of the ***** Tire Warranty. At no time was Ms. ****** told she had a six month warranty.

She does not "understand" the warranty, which is where the confusion begins. The ***** Tire Warranty is a 2-Part warranty.

-Part one states that it is a road hazard warranty for 2 years OR 3/32nds of tread (Which is a measuring standard in the tire industry) worn off of the tire. This part of the warranty covers non-repairable punctures caused by road hazards i.e. potholes, unavoidable debris in the road, etc. If the tire is brought back within those 2 parameters and cannot be repaired, it is then replaced at no charge for the tire. If however the tire is OUTSIDE one of those parameters, be it longer than 2 years or more than 3/32nds of tread worn off, the customer is then responsible for the cost of any replacement. Normal maintenance is the responsibility of the consumer. Normal maintenance including but not limited to making sure the tires have proper air pressure, making sure they are regularly rotated, as well as making sure the vehicle is mechanically stable and will not cause improper wear (via alignment or other mechanical issues).

-Part two of the ***** Tire Warranty covers the Roadside Assistance Program. This program covers if the consumer were to have a flat tire while out on the road driving. The consumer would then be able to call the provided phone number given to them when the warranty was registered, and Roadside Assistance would come to put on the consumers spare tire or a tow if 2 or more of the tires are flat or there is no usable spare at no charge.

Furthermore, the statement "If I was a man, I told him, you would exchange the tires, but since I am a woman, he would not change the tires out" is just a flat out lie. Wedge Tire has been serving the St. Louis community since 1970, and for the last 53 years all of our customers are treated equally and with respect regardless of gender or race.

    Thank you,

I am rejecting this response because:

Part One and Two: The warranty was not given to me in writing but by word of mouth at the time of purchase on 7/27/22. I was told I have a 2 year warranty on my tires. The only paper work I received was the ***** Roadside Assistance warranty and my receipts from the purchase. When I returned my car on 1/27/23 to have my tires checked, I was told that I had a 6 month warranty which had expired.

Normal maintenance was me returning the car to my tires checked and I was told about a 3/32nd tread worn off the tires that prevents the tires from being repaired. I was not told this at the time of purchase. These tires are not new tires but Re-treaded tires. The tires are no good, Period, point blank!!!
