    I had an issue with my Toyota Rav 4 at another shop who referred me to Quality Transmissions. They told me a new transmission would be about $5600. They had my car there for 10 days just trying to access the Toyota website. They ended up telling me tha it was a torque converter shutter issue and all they would have to do was replace the torque converter which was about $2700. I thought that was great news because it was much less than I originally thought. About 2 months after the work was done it started having the same issues. I took it back and now they are saying I need a new transmission so now they want me to pay the $5400 for it. They aren't even willing to give me a credit or anything. I trusted their opinion and they are supposed to be the experts. So now, if I want it fixed, I have to be out more than I was originally told.

    Customer was originally referred to us by another shop and came to us with a Toyota TSB to replace the torque converter and re-flash for torque converter shudder.  At that point, we gave the customer two options to rebuild or to do the torque converter install and re-flash.  We expressed to the customer that they were taking a gamble by just replacing the torque converter but they stated that was a gamble they were willing to take.  We did have the car for a longer period of time due to Toyota website problems.  When the customer called back with issues, we installed another torque converter at no charge to the customer.
