I purchased all new ******* appliances for my kitchen and my icemaker keeps freezing over. I called ******* which is also part of my complaint, their icemakers have been bad. I found out all way back to 2015 and of course They say its out of warranty the service company they recommended said they had a $95 fee before the guy comes out. He showed up today looked at my refrigerator and said Yep need all new parts $500 for the parts $300 labor. I found out through a friend that worked on ******* refrigerators for three years said they did icemakers 95% of the time their bad and they know it so I called the service company said I cant afford $800 and when can I expect my refund of the $95 Sorry no refund. She tells me also told me this is a common problem which means they knew before taking my $95 upfront. The service technician was very nice and only at my house for 22 minutes.Business Response

**************, I feel you are jumping to few conclussions here without knowing all the facts.
Has ******* had issues with Ice Makers? YES
When Mid America Service was contacted with your Service ticket, we looked up your model number and serial to see if your ******* Refrigerator feel under the list of refrigerators that ******* was aware of having ice maker issues. Yours was not one of the effected models, so we explained to you at that time it would cost $94.95 for us to send a tech to your home and see what exactly was going on with your refrigerator. We also explained at that time that any additonal parts and labor would be in addition to the service call fee.
We performed exactly what we told you we would do, without your refrigerator being identified as a unit effected with Ice maker issues, we would have no way to tell you over the phone, exactly what was wrong with your unit.
I apologize that the parts and labor added together to repair your unit was out of what you were expecting to pay, but to say we that we knew exactly what the issue was before we came to your home was false.

There is not alot I can write about your complaint.
The dates you gave are correct, the time line you have given are correct. What is missing is why this repair took so long, and the part about not being contacted.
We looked at your AC on 11/21/22, diagnosed it as a bad UI board.
11/22/22 Contacted you and gave you the estimate for repair, and ordered your part
11/23/22 contacted by parts distributor part would not be available unit March, contacted you to let you know what we had learned
2/17/22 contacted you again to let you know we had been informed we would have the part late march early april
4/19/22 contacted you to tell you, date had changed now we were being told **************** July
6/8/22 part was installed and tested
6/9/22 left a message stated your unit was ready for pickup!
Present Day since the unit had been sittlng at our shop for over a year, we assumed you no longer wished to have the unit or perhaps the store you bought it from or the manufacturer, had supplied you with a new one.

My washer stopped working June 26, 2023, luckily for me, I was smart enough to purchase a warranty. Mid America Service has been sending out technicians for what seems like once every other week for almost 2 months. Each and Everytime that they send out a technician, they come up with a different fabricated reason why the washer isn't working, and a new solution to this fabricated story. Me and my family has been spending hundreds of dollars for a couple of months now on washing clothes. Mid America Service has been very incompetent with the way that they handle things. They send out a technician who was there for less than 5 minutes to identify the problem, 7 to 10 days later he came back and supposedly fixed the problem and that's in 5 minutes. Not only did he not fix the problem, no one has been able to fix the problem since then but for some reason they are not recommending that I get a new washer. I'm beginning to think that the technicians get paid for every time to come out there and they want to keep this thing going on. This is very unprofessional and I demand a new washer since it is clear that they are incapable of fixing the old one. I refuse to continue to go through this inconvenience that has been placed upon me and my family by Mid America and this needs to stop ASAP!Business Response

******************,
Mid America Service ****** apologizes for all your trouble, but I feel you are placing the blame on the wrong company.
You stated you purchased a extended warranty, which means we have to follow the rules of that company when repairing your unit. During every step of the repair, your warranty company was updated with what we found and what parts would be needed for the repair, all of which they agreed to pay for you, up until the last visit to your home.
On our last visit, our technician took it upon himself to contact your extended warranty company, speak with a manager and explained all the issue with your repair. At that time we were told to stop the repair and that they would be making arrangements with you. If this was not done, then I highly suggest you contact the BBB under their name and file another complaint.
Mid America Service did not sell you the washing machine, so we can not offer to just give you a new machine.

Our refrigerator is still under warranty. This company was contacted by Fridgidaire to repair our refrigerator. They came out on 3 separate occasions 4/14, 4/21 and 4/27.
The technician never hooked up any diagnostic equipment and only tried to fix common issues. He was more concerned with getting in and out rather than actually fixing the problem. They have wasted a month of our time chasing a problem they were unwilling to repair.
I want my refrigerator repaired. If they couldn't do it, they should have told us.Business Response

Complaint: ********
I am rejecting this response because: our refrigerator was finally repaired. We had followed the technicians advice and let it thaw overnight. The problem is, that was not enough time for the refrigerator to fully thaw. The back of the refrigerator is insulated and keeps the ice around longer. He carried a steamer and was able to remove it.
We put our trust in you, you put.my family in danger and subjected us to a month of inconvenience.
You did a bad job. If you are not going to do warranty work well then don't do it. I don't know what material remedies you can make because the refrigerator is working for now.
You did a bad job and people need to know.
Sincerely,

Mid America Service came for a repair on my ******* refrigerator. Their policy is that they do not schedule appointment windows, they force you to be home all day to wait for the tech. The tech arrived, misdiagnosed the problem, ordered the incorrect part, and scheduled another visit that we would have to be home all day. When he arrived the second time he realized upon entering the residence that he ordered the wrong part and the part that was needed was in fact discontinued. Mid America Service refunded the part but refused to refund the service fee.Business Response

**************,
When you set up your Service Call with Mid America Service, you were explained that the service call $94.95 was what we charged to come to the home and diagnose a appliance. You were also explained that any additional parts and labor would be additional cost.
I can only appologize that the wrong part to fix your refrigerator was ordered the first time, we do everything in our power for this to not happen.
When you decided to not continue with the repair of your refrigerator you were immediately refunded any funds you had paid for the part

On Wednesday, November 16th, a technician arrived to repair our wash machine. He claimed to repair it, but did not test it. We paid him the full requested amount. The wash machine was not repaired and did not work after his departure. We contacted the company to come back out, and they said they would not come back out. They provided us with notes from the technician saying we had declined the repair. They then provided an estimate for over $600 for the repair, detailing problems and issues that were never raised by the technician. We requested a refund of the approximately $95 we paid him on November 16th, and they stated their company will not issue any refunds.Business Response

********************,
Let me start off by appollgizing for the trouble with your ******* Washer. Please allow me a moment to respond to your complaint.
On 11/14/22 when you originally called to set up your service call, you were explained on the phone that the $94.95 was a charge that we charge to come to the home and diagnose your unit, and that any additional parts or labor would be in addition the service call.
On 11/16 we came to your home and the tech wrote the following notes:
Customers complaint is leaking and 4e error. Found pressure tube loose. Reset pressure sensor and tested. Found hot valve to slow fill and dampers to be blown. Customer declined repair at this time
On 11/21 : When you called back, we explained to you that unless you wanted to move forward with the repair, the unit was going to continue to have the same issue. The reason for this is the dampers are causing excessive vibration, which is causing the pressure tube to come loose and cause your leak.
I am not sure what Mid America Service did wrong here. We did exactly what you asked us to do, we came to your home, gave you a estimate based off what we found.
