I have a garage door opener that is broken. They gave me a bad garage door opener the mother board is bad instead of the garage door opener. They charged me for battery back up, but I do not have battery back up. They reimbursed me $300.00 and told me to find a company to put in a motherboard. I need a brand new garage door opener with battery backup or a refund in the amount of $$275.00.

We're very sorry we were unable to resolve the issues with your opener. The manufacturer asked us to confirm the unit wasn't tampered with-and after further inspection and discussion, the manufacturer did confirm the motherboard was bad.  This experience was very unique to us, and we honored the refund.  After two unsuccessful attempts were made to mail a refund in the amount of $300, the choice was made to refund the credit card that was used for payment.  Our credit card processing company has confirmed that the refund in the amount of $300 was posted on Wednesday, June 7, 2023. In addition we insist you keep the unit for the confusion and inconvenience.  We truly wish you the best of luck!

This business needs to refund me an additional  $275.00 because I feel like I have been lied to.  The motherboard is busted in the garage door and we are not able to open the garage door .  We paid $4000.00 for this door.   When they were installing the door they were You tubing how to install the garage door.  Very nice door unable to open it.

I am rejecting this response because: This business needs to refund me an additional  $275.00 because I feel like I have been lied to.  The motherboard is busted in the garage door and we are not able to open the garage door .  We paid $4000.00 for this door.   When they were installing the door they were You tubing how to install the garage door.  Very nice door unable to open it. Yes, we were refunded the $300.00 but would like the additional $275.00 refunded as well.   This is not battery back up and I was charged for battery back up.  The business needs to eat the labor cost or install battery back up that needs to be at least 2 horse power and it needs to be battery back up. Why would I have to pay for labor when the door is will not open and the mother board is busted.

    Sincerely,

I truly am sorry that you are still unhappy with our attempts to satisfy your requests.  We understand that you had many home projects happening at the very same time and that you were very concerned about the money that was being spent on those projects.  You were making changes throughout our time working with you, including a refund for an item you changed your mind about and then changed your mind about the battery back-up on the opener. This is also the reason your paperwork still shows the battery back-up, but the COST reflects otherwise, because that was your last-minute money saving decision.  We have explained this and have even gone as far as to provide you with the paperwork from our distributor showing exactly what was purchased.  We have made 2 refunds to your credit card-one for the item you changed you mind about as well as for the opener.

We stand by our refund decision as it covered the cost of the opener.  The labor was performed, and everything was in working order when the job was initially completed. Additional trips were made to your home to diagnose issues at a later date. Contrary to the "you-tubing" remark, I was actually now communicating with the manufacturer.  I have always had the manufacturer replace motherboards at no cost- However, the manner in which the opener was acting prompted them to ask me many more questioned and determined that the unit had been tampered with, which was confirmed through conversation as we stood there.  The very next business day was my call now to the distributor to determine how to order, if there was now a cost and all of the details.  During this time frame you informed me that you were having another company come out.  That company also confirmed that the motherboard was not functioning, and you then asked for a refund (as of June 15, 2023).  The first request was that we refund you and come take the unit down, but after a very belligerent and threatening conversation, felt it unsafe to return and best to refund you for the unit, happily let you keep the unit and part ways without any possibility of confrontation.  For all of the reasons mentioned, we do not find it appropriate to refund any amount for the labor performed.
