    On Aug 10, 2022, **** ******* responded to my CL ad for repair work I needed done. He wrote up a contract to build a berm structure & I paid a check for one third of the labor costs, $4166. He came back a couple hours later, with his brother, *** ******, who could process the payment immediately on his phone. Work was to start digging Aug 15, after 911 checked for utility lines.
    According to ***, **** absconded with the money & never responded to phone calls. *** claimed that he would honor the contract, and absorb the cost of the first payment. On Aug 14th, the day before the job was to start the digging, *** had me pay for a bunch of materials---$1000 worth of stone, plywood for concrete forms (which was never delivered) & a few charges from ******* Other than the stone, which was delivered while I was outside, I never received any receipts & had no idea what was included. These were all for materials---lumber, Tyvek (which is never used for berm structures), electrical wiring--- which would not be needed until after the 40X40' hole was dug, the concrete poured, & framing started. Since he claimed **** took all the money, he also wanted another $500 to pay for renting the digging equipment.
    SIX weeks later, zero work had been done. Every ****, *** would promise to start, he would not show up, not answer phone calls, not return phone calls, but show up a few days later with an excuse. Even with just a simple electrical job he agreed to do in the meantime, the same no shows, no responses & excuses occurred.
    I filed a scam report with BBB a month or so ago, but was encouraged to file a complaint.

    Customer took me, and I went to the police and showed them emails.  I was informed to file a civil suit against customer.  Customer has different names she goes by.  I have spoken to other contractors and she has taken money from them as well.

    The mail is pretty bad here and it takes a long time.
