I am filing this complaint regarding a puppy I purchased from Valours Giants in Sedalia, Missouri. Prior to completing the sale, I was assured in writing that the puppy’s dew claws would be removed. However, upon arrival, I found that the dew claws were still intact, which directly contradicts the written agreement.

In addition to the issue with the dew claws, the puppy arrived in poor health. She was covered in fleas and had a noticeable skin condition that caused significant hair loss and scarring around her neck and head. This condition was never disclosed to me before the purchase, and I was only made aware of it after I had already made full payment and the ground transportation company was en route to deliver the dog. This left me in a position where I could not stop or delay the purchase.

I had clearly communicated with the breeder before the sale that this puppy would be used for sporting, competition, and business purposes, which require the dog to have a good coat. The condition of the puppy’s skin, with its hair loss and scarring, directly impacts her ability to participate in these activities and undermines the purpose for which I purchased the dog. The breeder knew of these plans, and I relied on her assurance that the puppy would be in good health and condition for such purposes.

When I contacted the breeder to address these issues, she refused to provide any compensation, stating that the dog was sold “as is.” This response is unacceptable, as it contradicts the assurances made prior to the sale and the conditions under which the puppy was advertised.

    Resolution Requested:

Given the misrepresentation of the puppy’s health and the failure to meet the stated conditions of the sale, I am requesting the total reimbursement of $2500 for the cost of the puppy. Additionally, I am requesting that the breeder be responsible for all transportation costs required to return the puppy to her care.
