In September 2024, I contracted with S&J Construction & Remodeling to build a garage. ******* and his crew initially worked consistently, and payments were made weekly and on time. Due to the trust built during this project, I hired him in November *************************************** my primary bedroom, while some garage-related touch-*** remained incomplete. ******* assured me his new job wouldnt impact my project and that it would be completed within three weeks. Neither promise was kept. While the bathroom project started strong, attention to detail significantly declined as time passed. ******* often worked alone for short hours, and delays increased as the remaining balance dwindled. Despite full payment for both the garage and bathroom, both projects remain unfinished and plagued with issues. Attempts to communicate with ******* over the past two months have resulted in empty promises of completion.Unresolved issues include elevated floor tile, a damaged and improperly installed shower door, a misaligned closet door, missing door stoppers, an incorrectly installed shower system, poor exhaust fan placement, unfinished garage wall paint, damaged walls, uncovered nail holes, a split closet door frame, missing bathroom door keys, crooked walls, dented towel rods, and an overall poor paint job. This is not an all-inclusive list, but rather some of the items that need ************* of February 11, 2025, this has turned into a costly and stressful situation. We are requesting assistance in urging ******* to either complete the projects or refund a portion of the money paid.

My mother, ***************************, paid ************************* $5000 on April 22, 2024 for him to order supplies, he said would take 2 weeks to come in. He also told my mother, *************************** and myself, ***************************, that his son and he could complete this job installing facia and soffit on her home, located at ***************************** In **************, Mo on a weekend so it could be completed prior to her gutter installation, scheduled for May 24, 2024. Here we are in July of 2024, and all I've gotten from ************* is excuse after excuse as to why he hasn't been able to complete this job. He also offered to refund her $5000 in a text message to me. But has since, asked if he could set up payments to repay her. I replied, no, she isn't a loan company, she lives on a fixed income, and she borrowed the money to pay you and is making payments on that money. He also offered to do the job without charging her any labor. I told him no, she doesn't trust you and said she wants her money back plus $500 on top of the $5000 she paid you. He's still using every excuse he can come up with, I have text messages if you would like them to prove how he's been nothing but excuses as to why he couldn't show up for dates scheduled to do her work and excuses why he can't refund her money.
