I am writing this on behalf of ******* **********, (******** **********). He got into an accident in the last week of sept of 2021 that wrecked his car. He had full coverage ******* ********* had his car towed to an autobody shop in mid oct 2021. His ********* was supposed to be handling the claim and paying for the car to be fixed. However the ********* wanted to speak with ******* about his car and the accident before they paid. He had appointed a woman who he thought to believe was a nurse who was supposed to be helping him. The woman instead then never spoke with the ********* company and got his phone turned off so the ********* company would not speak to him about the claim. She then was telling him that the ********* wasn't going to pay and that he would have to pay Hammer's for the **** ****** ********** to fix the car. He even wrote checks out that say to Hammer's in the Memo. However this woman then proceed to steal $193,500 from him over the course of a year. This has went to the police along with that he things she was stealing his mail and she was stealing his medications as well. When this was discovered and he found out the money was not going to the auto shop we contacted them to find out what was owed and how to get this squared away. Instead to get his car out they are charging 22000 dollars. The car has not been fixed taken apart or looked at by anyone in the shop. The owner is wanting this money only for a storage fee. Now I have tried to come to some agreement with the owner ***** even about pay a portion for his time but the man insist that he either gets $22000 or he is keeping the car in 7 days. ******* had every penny stolen from him by this woman and Hammer's is taking on of his last remaining things he has. He is 74 years old. He recently had a severe heart attack and only gets a small portion of money every month from the ** for being injured in war and Social Security. We are desperate for help so he doesn't lose everything now.

I believe ******** ********** is his daughter in law. We have done everything we can to communicate with the ********* company. ******* ********* ******* was disputing he had coverage and started an investigation which lasted a couple months. He would not talk to them or us. I would try to call him and could not get in touch with him. We sent a letter to him with no response. We did speak to his kids and asked if they had a POA to make any decisions. The bill is solely for storage. The car was towed to us on 10/20/21. I cannot release the car to anyone unless I can confirm authorization. This is a hellcat and it is an expensive car. We have not worked on the car because we cannot get authorization from *** **********. ******* was going to approve the claim but they could not get a statement from *** **********. I just need to know who has responsibility so I can release the vehicle to the right party.

    Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:
I received a mechanic’s Lien from him stating he will be filing to take the car unless he is paid $23000 for storage. He doesn’t have anyones best interest in mind. He wasn’t even willing to hear an offer of partial payment under the circumstances of half. He has never talked to my kids until they found out everything going on recently and made contact with him at which point all he has requested is money for storage. He has also stated he refuses to make repairs to the car even if the storage fees are paid, he expects money for essentially nothing and refuses to offer any services. Shortly after this was sent to the BBB and my daughter in law who is helping me with things now posting a 1 star review on ****** with no comments of the situation she received a phone call from the owner about the review. He was yelling and extremely angry demanding she take down the poor review and that it would be better if we let the car go. The ********* has just recently stated they will not pay for the repairs, which I am  still fighting because they show that the car had full coverage at the time of the accident and in fact paid for the other person’s damage but is now refusing to pay for my car’s repairs. He is aware of this and

    Sincerely,

    ******* **********
