    On 8/14/24 I went in for an eye exam and a vision therapy evaluation. I ordered new lenses for my glasses. I also ordered transitions, which I was informed that I could return within 30 days if I did not like them.I returned the following week had to have my left eye prescription adjusted and informed them that I did not like the transition part of the lenses.When I returned for my new lenses I was informed that I would not be refunded for the transitions because I had used my eye insurance. I had not been informed of this when I purchased the new lenses at the original appt. I told the tech they should educate staff to inform clients they will not be refunded bc I was not told this. And I would not have ordered them if I had known.I left upset and called back to talk with the manager. I was told she was not at her desk and to leave a voicemail for her. The ** would print of my face sheet and place it on her desk. She never bothered to return my call. This is not a way to do business. I imagine the ** would not be happy if he knew this is how customers where treated. I would like a refund for the transition lenses.I spent a total of $395 between the vision therapy evaluation which was $195 and my new lenses for the glasses frames I already own.

    I have attached the original receipt showing disputed copay is actually $75 not $164.

    I have also attached my email response I sent to ********* this morning, 10.16.2024 @ 10:24am.

    Patient insurance copay policies are dictated by the insurance and the contract with their client. We are an intermediary to this contract, meaning, we are bound by insurance policy. I spoke with *********** insurance this morning(VSP), they stated that copays are not refundable, they documented the pertinent information about the matter and supplied a contact number *************) for the patient to reach out to regarding her request.

    In my email I apologized for my delay in responding to her request in my office and offered any assistance I could supply regarding this matter with *** and their copay policies

    I have reviewed the business' response and am rejecting it because:
    I understand it is the policy of the insurance to not refund.  However I should have been informed when I was making the purchase that it was non-refundable, which I was not.
