    The incident took place on December 26th. We were driving our 2014 ******* Santa Fe Sport from ************** to *******. While driving the check engine light came on the vehicle slowed. We got of the highway and found A2Z. A diagnostic was run and we were told the car could be fixed for $1,652.00. Five hours later it was done and we were on the road. Approximately 30 miles down the road the check engine light came on again and the car failed again. We had to have the car towed back to *********, ********. We spent $1,652.00 for 30 miles. *** refuses to refund our money even when the receipt at the bottom says guarantee 12 month warranty. We later found out the engine failed and ******* stated this was a recall issue to repair the car and reimburse for any out of pocket expenses. ******* now has said they will not pay and said the repair shop is responsible for the return of our money. I don't know who to go to . The engine on the car was gone. We paid $1,652.00 and got 30 miles on the repair. Please help.

    The customer came in with a check engine light on and stated it was at another shop days ago because the engine had no oil in it.

    We called ******* and spoke with the *************** adviser about the customer complaint .

    ******* recommended doing regular /basic  maintenance on the vehicle i.e. Tune up etc.. and said if the vehicle has a engine recall. He also stated: as long as maintenance was done as will as no engine slug the recall  would be valid. The customer was told this information we received and agreed to do the basic maintenance.

    The customer was aware that this was just vehicle maintenance not a repair.

    As far as ******* not reimbursing them for this, Unfortunately maintenance is not considered a repair.

    We did speak with the customer regarding our warranty (if the parts we put on FAIL, they are covered 12 months part and labor ).

    We will not be refunding the customer any amount, Charges were valid and the customer was informed of the condition of there vehicle .
