    Sat July 01, 2023 I arrived @ Union Nails around 9:25 A. They opened around 9:45A. I was a “Walk In”, (I didn’t hv an appt). I was greeted by ***’s, (Owner) husband. I picked out my nail colors, he ask’d me to take a seat in chair #10. I did. I chose the wrong color, quickly chose the right one. He took my nails off, applied the new set, after he cut them down to my liking, he then tld me my cost wld be $58 for a new set. After he was done, the price changed to $60, plus $1 for using my debit card. I gave him $57 cash, $4 off my debit card, for $61. I left not satisfied w/the total cost. I got home, decided to call back & tt *** bc I wanted to keep our conversation private. I didn’t want their customers overhearing our conversation @ the store . I expressed to her my overcharged concerns *** tld me, you were given the price b4 he did ur nails & you agreed to pay. I tld her NO, I wasn’t given the price b4 he got started on my nails. I was given the price after he took my nails off, put the new set on, cut them down, then I was tld the price. *** started yelling at me if you don’t like our services don’t come back & you got really long nails! I tld her No I didn’t get long nails. I got them much shorter than the many times I had bn there b4. Then she sd talk to my husband. He came to the phone & sd you got all this extra work done. I told him No I didn’t. I didn’t get any designs just regular Gel Nail Set/Polish & what was the extra $20 for? He told me bc you wanted 3 coates of polish & we only do 2 for no charge. I sd $20 for a 3rd coat of polish? I sd to him, y know y overcharged me. I askd for a credit for my next visit & he sd NO. *** was in the background yelling at me saying tell her if she goes on line & submits a bad review or if I contact the BBB, she will Cancel my appointment w/her for July 19, 2023 & will refuse service to me in the future permanently. Then her husband sd y heard her right? Then he hung up the phone. Now, I need BBB help $20 STORE CREDIT

    AFTER READING THIS ARTICLE, I WOULD LIKE TO TELL YOU MY SITE OF THE STORY. SHE WAS THE EX-OWNER WIFE 'CUSTOMER. WE ARE HAVING PROBLEM WITH HER IN THE PAST FOR A FEW TIMES.

    I USED TO BE A WORKER HERE AND NOW I BOUGHT THE SHOP A YEAR AGO. EVERYTHING CHANGED SINCE COVID. THE COST, THE LABOR.THE SUPPLIES AND DEMAND. THE MARKET HAS CHANGED AS WELL.

    WE CHANGED OUR PRICE SINCE I TOOK OVER THE SHOP. SHE EXPECTED TO HAVE THE SERVICE AS THE SAME PRICE 10 YEARS AGO IS NOT POSIBLE. WE ARE STATE THAT THE PRICE HAS CHANGED, WE HAVE OUR LINK MENU PRICE ONLINE AND INSTORE. WE ALSO TELL HER BEFORE HAND THAT ANYTHING SHE ASKED FOR THAT GOING TO TAKE THE NAIL TECHNICIAN LONGER TIME WILL BE EXTRA. SHE AGREED THE WHOLE TIME, SHE PAID AND LEFT. AN HOUR LATER, SHE CALLED BACK JUST TO WANT TO HAVE CREDIT FOR THE NEXT VISIT. ANY SERVICE THAT SHE ALREADY CONSUMED WERE NOT REFUNDABLE.  THE PROBLEM WERE NOT THE SERVICE OR THE PRODUCT THAT WE GAVE HER. SHE GOT THE NAILS THAT SHE WANTED. 

    ALL SHE WANTED IS MAKING OUR BUSINESS LOOK BAD AND GET THE $20 BACK. ALL I CAN TELL YOU RIGHT NOW, SHE IS NOT THE CONSUMER THAT MY BUSINESS OR ANY OTHER BUSINESS LOOKING TO HAVE. SHE WILL DO ANTHING JUST TO GET FREE SERVICE. AND AS THE NAIL TECHNICIAN, WE ARE ALSO DESERVE THE RIGHT TO REFUSE SERVICE TO ANYONE. I - AS THE OWNER, WILL NOT GIVE HER ANY KIND OF CREDIT OR MONEY BACK. AND WE WILL REFUSE SERVICE TO HER AS THE TIME COMES.

    I am rejecting this response because:



    I disagree with their response because 10 years ago I wasn’t getting artificial nails done. I was a valued customer under the old management and never encountered a problem and I’ve never contacted the BBB as well. I have always paid for the services in which I wash provided. Under this New Management.I addressed a pricing concern immediately afterwards and again  15 minutes after I got home. All I asked was breakdown of their fees that would warrant a $20 difference from the services they provided and they refused to do so. (Per their NEW price list. they enclosed Acrylic Nails/Gel Color New Set is $40). I’ve have always paid for their services and never asked or expect it for Free. I’m sure if I had of displayed such behavior as previously stated by them, no doubt the local authorities would have been called. That never happened. I have no personal vendetta against this business. My relationship with other businesses in the area is of no concern to them, so therefore is irrelevant. I asked for a CREDIT ONLY towards my next visit but since they chose to permanently refuse services to me, which is the first time this has happened to me in the entire 60 years of my life, I don’t & will not step foot on their property or place off business again. I wish them all continued success now and i the near future.
