On 24 Apr 2023 and again on 02 May 2023 I had appointments for a deep cleaning of my upper and lower teeth. Before any treatment I made sure that the provider was In-Network with my insurance company. They said yes. They had me sign a document that I was responsible for the $50 deductible that my policy required. After the work was done, I examined the bill and saw that the charge my account $150.00 for a laser Bacterial Reduction treatment that they now told me I was responsible for. I called my insurance provider, Anthem, to seek advice. Their agent said that an IN NETWORK provider should only charge for covered treatment, and if they elect to work outside of coverage, it must be absorbed by the provider, and not the patient. When I pointed this out to the dental office they said that I signed a paper that I was responsible for what the insurance company didn't cover. First of all, I was told that my signature was necessary for cover only my deductible, and secondly, at no time was I advised that the 'uncovered' treatment was not included in the normal covered procedure. Consequently, I felt that this was an unfair business practice and the provider should reimburse me for what I consider to be an overcharge.Again, I made if clear that I retained their service because they were In Network, and therefore they were not following the insurance company's pricing guideline. There was an over charge of $150.00

RE: ID ******** -Customer complaint for repair issues seeking reimbursement
We have received notification of this complaint and we will resolve this by reimbursing the customer for services rendered. Our office prides ourselves on quality care and we delivered that to the customer while following all legalities with billing. Customer was made aware of charges before treatment was rendered, signed consent for financial responsibility and was charged following all proper insurance protocol. We are reimbursing them the $150.00 they have requested so this can be resolved. Thank you.
