Cornfed Components LLC sold me a GM NV4500 5speed transmission for our truck on 4/18/2024. I did not know that I was dealing with a business as this information was not included in his ******** Market Place add. I assumed he was a small town back yard builder. The cost was $1750 + core transmission. The core that he took and kept cost me $500 roughly, I say roughly as it came with a lot of other components for a transmission swap. The transmission I purchased from Cornfed Components LLC was supposed to have been rebuilt. He specifically said that it got a new Input shaft, brass synchronizers (do not require special fluid), and bearings. He also said that everything else (main shaft / gears / output shaft) had been cleaned up and inspected and was in good shape. I never even got the transmission installed. At time of instillation the installer noticed that there was A LOT of "slop" in the pilot bearing on the input shaft. It was noted that the input shaft had been "polished" but was not at all new and way out of "spec". Calipers read .482 but is supposed to be .590. At this time the installer pulled the top cover off of the transmission to inspect and found that the gears on the main shaft were all well past their useful life with large pits and whole chunks of metal flaking off. At this time the installer deemed the transmission unsafe and unsafe and refused to install. I contacted Cornfed Components and relayed the information. He told me that I voided my warranty buy pulling off the top cover (silly as that is a basic maintenance and inspection thing) and told me that I should have "just installed it". I showed him pictures and he said he did not install those parts and essentially accused me of swapping bad parts in. When I told him I had been documenting this process for ******* and could prove it he threatened to sue me for defamation. This might not be a lot of money to other people. But the time and money I'm now down is crippling us.

I purchased a transmission rebuild July 21st 2022. After purchase, I was informed there were none in stock but I was given the option to send my core to be rebuilt. The time line given was 2-3 weeks after receiving my core. After months of terrible communication and thinking I would never actually see anything, I received a rebuilt transmission, on January 18th 2023. I was told I would get a core charge back after the transmission was received. I never got my money back even though my core was rebuilt and sold to someone else before I received anything. Since then, all communication has stopped from the company. No emails, calls, or text messages are being responded to. In summary, I would like my core charge of $1500.00 returned and for this company to not take advantage of anyone else the way they are trying to take advantage of me. We used every resource we could to get this transmission and its been such a disaster dealing with cornfed components.
