  ********* Cork of Cork Painting was contracted on 9/4/23 to scrape old paint off/pressure wash the house, caulk areas that needed to be caulked, paint the house with an oil-base primer & the final coat of paint. The total cost was $ 1500.00. Half up front & half to be paid when the job was done. Never let us know when he would be here to work. We always had to contact him via text to ask when he was going to be here. He ruined our new front porch by not covering it up when he pressure washed the house with bleach. There are now bleach spots all over the porch. It will have to be fixed somehow at our expense. He barely scraped any of the house. My husband & I did the majority of the scraping. My husband went up on the roof to scrape & caulk the upper eave of the house. He is disabled & shouldn't have had to do what the painter was supposed to do. I had to climb on the ladder which I shouldn't have been doing. He did not bring the proper equipment to do the job. He did not have enough plastic or painting covers to cover the porch & place under the edge of the house to catch paint chips. He did not have enough material to cover all of the windows. He covered 4 out of 9 windows & did not cover our security lights when he sprayed what was supposed to be primer. The primer was the thinnest coat he could put on. You can see the bare wood thru the primer. He had no reliable help which meant he would not be able to get the job done in 2 ½ days as he told us. We fired him on 9/13/23. We are out $ 750 & now have to do the job ourselves. We are both disabled & will have to do work that we should not be doing & we have paint chips to clean up. I feel like he wanted to get fired. He got paid 50% of the money to do less than 20% of the job. I took over 50 photos on 2 different days. The 1st 4 are from 9/7/23, they are indicative of the poor quality of his work. The 5th, taken on 9/7/23, is what the upper eave looks like after my husband scraped it. Final 7 pics are after "primer".
