My husband & I entered a verbal agreement with T & B Granite Countertops on March 22, 2024 for kitchen and master bathroom remodel. The total amount for the remodel was $17,310.00 & a deposit of $8,655.00 was paid by check to T & B Granite Countertops on March 22, 2024. The second half of payment of $8,655.00 was paid by check on May 23, 2024. The job was started on May 21, 2024, and we were originally told the job would be completed within a week. The job was completed per ****** *********** of T & B Granite Countertops on June 3, 2024. Starting the night of June 3, 2024 there were problems with the tub drain and water leaking under tub. We called ****** at least 2 times about the draining and water leaking and both times he said he did not know what the problem was. After weeks of tub leaking we had a certified plumber remove the tub and check plumbing. We were informed by the plumber that the drain will need to be busted up to trap and moved to a new location. Tile will need to be busted to clear a path. The tub was installed incorrectly and the overflow was capped off. The tub must be installed with overflow connected to drain for proper drainage. The tile under the tub was set with no foundation underneath it leaving it hollow. The plumber also informed us this creates a hazardous situation and the tub could fall through. We were given a $3,500-$4,500 estimate to fix plumbing done by T & B Granite Countertops. The tub was installed incorrectly causing it to flex and crack the bottom of the tub. The tub cannot be used being cracked. We are out an additional $2,300 for a cracked tub. T & B Granite Countertops accept no responsibility for these costly mistakes claiming “accidents happen.”

We were on schedule to come back to install new floors in their kitchen and bathrooms we told them we planned to redo the drain to the tub when we came back todo floors and other touch ups everything was fine I didn’t hear from them at all until time to go back and do the floors that’s when they brought the tub to my attention when a hole in the front of the tub from someone hitting or kicking it maybe we have agreed to pay for the tub and also offered to hire a plumber to fix the drain

Mr. ***********’s response is false.  We asked for a refund on the floors before that project was started because the bathroom was done so poorly.  The workmanship was terrible. There were several times Mr *********** no showed and cancelled to look at the plumbing disaster, which is why we had to hire a plumber ourselves. Mr *********** is a very dishonest person and I think the public should know how he handles his business. I wish I would have had a warning not to use him. His first response to this problem was “we’ll have to settle this in court” I have been without a bathroom since May 21, 2024. I also now have to find a contractor to completely rip out my bathroom again bc it was not done correctly by Mr ***********. I am out thousands of dollars to fix his mistakes and all he has to say is no one is perfect & everyone makes mistakes. Mr *********** lied and said he was a licensed contractor with insurance, but he has neither. I will be filing complaints with Mississippi State Board of Contactors and filing a suit against him.
