    They offer free documents but then charge you a 1$ fee and then they make it impossible to get back on their site and now they charged me ***** for who knows what. I paid my $1 and do NOT want anything else from this company.

    I was trying to purchase a form for the price of $8.00 on Sunday March 17, 2024. I tried numerous times to purchase a "BLANK" form, approximately 4 times, but the web page would not allow me to download or print the one single form I needed.

    After I immediately cancelled the cost of $8.00, I noticed that they had charged my AMEX $96.00 for a full year subscription. This web page is a scam.

    Customer signed up for a Basic Annual Subscription on 3-17-24 at $96.00   A California Residential Lease Agreement and a California Landlord Tenant package were downloaded..See attached showing this.  Our monthly service is $39.00 a month.  We offered a refund of $57.00 and to have the subscription expire on 4-17-24.  The customer even admitted over the phone that he downloaded the form. The $8.00 offered is only for an Annual Subscription 8 x 12 = $96.00.  If you want to cancel and obtain a partial refund you are charged at the monthly rate then refunded this difference. The customer declined the refund.  The refund offer is still available.

    The company is lying. I NEVER WAS ABLE TO DOWNLOAD and forms. I tried approximately 4 times but the web page would not let me down load the forms or I would not be addressing this issue.

    I have notified AMEX and The Federal Government Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.

    BBB, by your own web page, this company has ran the same scam on numerous other people and you, BBB, have ALERTED people about this company.

    How much evidence do you need to show this company rips people off. BBB, read  your own file about this company.

    Unless this company refunds my complete $96.00, I will pursue this matter through federal agencies (law enforcement), to reach an appropriate solution.

    Again, I did not and was not able to download any forms, and the web page is extremely misleading about the $8.00 charge being an annual subscription.

    I was actually trying to search for a tax deed in DC and thought this was a free government site.

    Then it said that there was a monthly charge and I realized that it was a paid service but $8 didn’t seem too much for a month so I tried it. Complete bait and switch. It said $8 per monthly subscription and then it charged me an annual subscription of $96 for 12 months. Immediately Looked for a way to cancel it within minutes and then went down a rabbit hole of questions and when I cancelled it it said that my membership would run through 2025 for the full amount. After doing some research online and finding a customer service phone number someone actually answered the phone and said they couldn’t refund the money because I had (accidentally) downloaded a document so they would have to charge me at least the $39 monthly fee not sure why since the monthly fee is $8 (they said they would refund the balance, let’s see). Reporting them to BBB and my credit card company. Absolutely unethical company that is into tricking unsuspecting consumers and confusing them to hit on payment options that are intentionally deceptive and misleading.

    The customer signed up for a Annual Basic Subscription for $96.00. When signing up for an Annual account you receive a huge discount, otherwise the charge is $39.00 a month for the Basic Monthly Subscription.  At the top of our Pricing page *************************************  there is an Orange toggle switch that goes between Annual and Monthly.  You need to move it to monthly to see the Monthly pricing.  I have provided screenshots of these screens for you to take a look at.  Customer downloaded a form that had a Preview so the customer can view the form to make sure it is what they are needing before downloading.  Since the form the customer downloaded had a preview, only a partial refund can be issued.  Since the account is being converted to a monthly account we refunded $57.00 as agreed to and the customer retains access until 4-7-24.  If you need anything else let us know.  Thank you.

    Despite the business saying that there was a toggle switch (between monthly and annual) it isn’t obvious at all and I am not an idiot, I subscribe to a bunch of services online. This was an intentional bait and switch if ever there was one.  If you look at the litany of similar complaints made by others, it’s obvious that the company intends to mislead you. Moreover, when I figured out what I had done (literally seconds later) I looked through the website to figure out a way to cancel it and could find none. I then had to do a Google search to find out if there was an actual customer support phone number (there isn’t one on their website) and called literally minutes later. When I spoke to the customer service rep that this needed to be canceled she said that she would have to charge me $39. I will not be using their subscription and I don’t want to do business with such an unethical company. 

    I actually was looking for a house Deed document and initially thought this was a government website given the US legal forms moniker. This entire website seems to be designed to mislead and trick consumers on all fronts. 

    So, instead of charging me for a monthly service of $8 they are now conveniently switching this to a monthly service of $39?! This is absolute highway robbery and I am also reporting this to my credit card company. I have dealt with many other companies that offer subscriptions and they are all very decent in refunding your money if you call them within minutes of doing something inintended. This company should be flagged for all potential users as an utterly unethical company that’s out to rip you off. You don’t win customers and build goodwill with customers with such devious practices. And you certainly will not have any repeat customers. I have warned all my friends and family about this company and the experience I had.

If I said that I accepted their response it would mean that I accepted their unethical and misleading practices and I don’t.     To me they use a deceptive website. You think you are going to be charged only $8.00, then after you give your card information you find out you just signed up for a year and paid it all in advance, $98.00! In my case, I downloaded a form and couldn't make it work on my computer. I tried it again, same result. It said I could edit, when I tried that, it locked up my computer. I had to restart the computer. I tried again, wouldn't work. So I contacted them for a refund. No, they said I could get a partial refund, basically about still get charged almost $40.00, as that is the monthly charge, since I downloaded the 2 forms I couldn't use. I said I want a full refund. After some argument, I was told no refund. If you look at all the complaints against them, it's basically the same, their site and business practice is set up so you don't realize what you are getting in to. The "Orange Button" issue keeps coming up. Very clever! Then they get to keep everyone's $39.00. I wonder how many times people don't bother to complain? To me, it's a smarmy way of doing business.

    The customer signed up for a Basic Annual Subscription on 8-7-23.  Customer downloaded 2 different forms.  Customer responded the forms weren't working.  We downloaded the forms in an older version of Word and they both worked fine.  On our site we also has an Editor for people to use that don't have Word.  We used the Editor on line and it work fine as well.  We were able to complete the document, modify and print it with no problem.  We have not had any complaints on the Editor not working.  We also have instructions on the site on how to use the Editor.   Since everything works we could not offer a full refund. We did give them directions on using the Editor but again they said it would not work.   However, we did offer to refund $57.00 and charge them just for one month of service.  We will still offer the refund and will email the forms to the customer as well.  Thank you, US Legal Forms, Inc.

    Company uses deceptive practices on website by not informing customers in clear, legible language that they are going to be charged up-front for an annual subscription by putting "$8.00 a month" on the button, not specifying that they are actually agreeing to an upfront payment of $96.00 instead of monthly payments of $8.00 a month. They also do not clearly and legibly state that purchases made in error cannot be refunded.

    On our pricing page above the Plan Description is an orange toggle switch that goes between annually and monthly.  It needs to be moved to monthly to see the monthly pricing.  It defaults to annual unless you choose  the  monthly option.  We spoke with the customer and have issued a partial refund of $57.00 as the monthly service is $39.00.  The refund should be reflected on the card within 3 to 7 business days. The customer still has access to all of our forms until 4-13-23.  If  you need anything else let us know.

    If you look at our pricing page *************************************  it clearly indicates above the description box there are Annual and Monthly charges.  While it does default to Annual you need to move it to look at the Monthly charges.  The toggle switch and writing are in orange so they will not be missed. Also, before the charge is processed it details you the amount of the charge, for you to review, before you press enter to process the charge to your card.  We have many customers who notice this on the site before purchasing, you just have to read any website before you make a purchase. At this point we have issued you a partial refund and we are very satisfied with our site and will not be making any changes. We are sorry you did not see this on the site when you placed your order.

    Reviewed the website carefully and understood that a month to month subscription is $15.
    Only upon entering credit card (11/28/22) it then billed me $180 for a full year.
    I immediately tried the chat function, every day for three days - it's never online.
    I called the 1 877 3890141 number and left voicemails - it always said "out of office hours" even though it was not.
    I checked the help centre areas of the website, and it had very "red flag" language like "Refunds are possible but require an abnormal reason". and "being awarded a refund is dependent on uncommon circumstances" and "if you bought an Annual Premium subscription for $180. Then, you downloaded 2 forms that cost $59 each. In this case, you’ll get a partial refund of $121. If the cost of downloaded forms exceeds the cost of the subscription, no refund will be given."
    They finally called be back on December 1st, and were polite enough, but totally inflexible... I downloaded a single page form, which I understood would cost me $15 max, and they want to withhold $59 for it. The woman also gave me a list of lame excuses as for why the website is down, why trouble tickets were not being recorded and even that they were on an all day training yesterday so no customer services representatives were available the whole day! I am so dissatisfied and it has taken me hours to try and resolve this! I am seeking the full refund of $180.

    A the top of our pricing page https://www.uslegalforms.com/pricing/ there is an Orange toggle switch that goes between Annual and Monthly.  It should have been moved to monthly to see the monthly pricing which is $39.00 a month for basic or $59.00 for Premium.  We are sorry you did not see this, you only saw our Annual Pricing . Since you did downloaded a form we can refund you $121.00, as you signed up for our Premium Annual Service, and you will retain access for a month until 12-29-22.

    I am rejecting this response because: there have been over two years several complaints relating to this "orange toggle button" which switched from monthly to annual... clearly this is a known design flaw to the website, and the fact they they don't have a summation/approval page of what you will be charged makes this a "one-click" scam. I expect the full refund, and this company must fix their website to be clearer and more user-friendly.
