september19,2023 I went in to pay my last $19.35 I owe them to pay off my account and close it .I paid $155 on September 4,2023 and the cashier said if you give me a extra $19.35 it'll pay your account off,but I didn't have it ,so she said just drop it off when I can so I went in on 9/19/2023 thinking I'm going to give them $19.35 and the cashier said now I owe $38.85.in 2 weeks my $19.35 was inflated a dollar a da onmy remaining balance of $18.35.remind you my payments are only $70 a month but every month I would pay extra to hurry and close account so on 9/05/2023 I paid $155 more than the $70 a month I was told.so how does $19.35 balance turn into $38.85 in 2 weeks in the same month

This creditor ran my credit without my permission on 11/10/2022 in order to review information on my credit report. They are reporting inaccurate information on my credit report for two loans. They are engaging in harassment by utilizing protected information for personal reasons. I would like for any accounts listed by tower loans to be removed from my credit report.

I purchased two couches from Ashley Furniture in Columbia in April of 2021. At the time, I was approved for a loan from Tower Loan company that was supposed to be an interest free loan for 2 years. I was informed that if I made the monthly payments for two years, the furniture would be paid of and no interest would be charged. Tower Loan first billed me in May of 2021 for right around $137, and the payments remained the same each month for the duration of the loan. I made payments faithfully, never missing one. I believe I had one late payment that was due to my error. I thought I had paid the bill but had not. As soon as the loan company contacted me, I made the payment by phone that day. I made my payment that was due April 13, 2023 on April 7, 2023 and saw that there was one payment left, which appeared right to me as my first payment was in May of 2021. When I logged in today to make what I thought was my final payment, it showed a payoff amount of over $1,300. I called the store when they opened and was told that I did not pay the loan off in two years, and therefore all of the interest was applied. That was about 35% interest on my purchase. I informed the store manager that I was making the payments that they had set for me. The amount they charged me each month was what I believed needed to be paid for the two years in order to meet the terms for the interest-free loan. They intentionally undercharged me just a few dollars a month so that I would not pay the furniture in full until May 13, 2023 (when I thought my last payment was due since the first payment was due in May of 2021), so that they could charge me a ton of interest. Had I known that they were undercharging me, I would have made additional payments. As it turned out, just over $100 left to pay on a roughly $3500 loan and 8 days (they claim it should have been paid off by 4/13/223) is costing me all of this money. She also lied and said they contacted me when they did not.

       Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

This business has not attempted to contact me to address my concern. Prior to filing this complaint, I contacted my local store and spoke to the manager. She claimed they tried to contact me in October 2022 to discuss this situation. I reminded her that the October call was an attempt to offer me another loan, and that had nothing to do with a situation that just arose in April 2023. Her response then was that they didn’t have to contact me. While I was filing this complaint, I noticed I missed a call from the store and called back. The store manager stated she was calling me back because she didn’t like the way I spoke to her. Imagine calling a customer to engage in an argument. I found this to be odd and very unprofessional. She then claimed that the business did try to contact me recently, but said that I don’t answer my phone. I am the Director of a company that runs 24/7, take care of a woman with disabilities that lives in my home, I’m a single mother, AND I’m in graduate school. No, I’m not always available to answer my phone. Obviously I would not have recognized the number they called from IF they did call, and they never bothered to leave a message. Interestingly, they DID leave messages in October when they wanted to solicit my business. If they called at all (I’m very skeptical), they could have simply left a message, and I would have returned their calls just as I did in October.

      Regards,

Even though it was no obligation to do so, Tower accepted the funds received  payment in full as if April 24, 2023.   when Tower made this adjustment.

My review does not indicate any wrongdoing by Tower, further it appears Tower did proactively attempt to make contact with Ms. ****** prior to her same as cash expiration date.  This matter is closed and no further action is required by Tower.

I have contacted this company on numerous occasion requesting that they delete these false accounts. The account number is # *********** . it is reporting TWICE. I asked for a contract proving that these accounts held me contractually liable to pay them. They failed to send any information requested. they only sent a letter stating the amount owed. This in in violation of my consumer rights and the FDCPA/ Federal Rules of Civil procedure. I will give them one last chance to produce proof that the account is indeed mine. I know that the FCRA requires them to have proof the account is mines in order to report it to the bureau. They are reporting this false information and ruining my life in the process. it also is a violation of the HIPPA law to report this information. I will give them 15 working days to produce requested information and if they don't- I will file civil suit in the clerk of courts. Please govern yourselves accordingly.
