    I was discriminated against in Stringer Furniture in Jackson, Mississippi last week based on race and age.
    I was mislead to believe that l was getting a great deal on a mattress that turned out to be an over priced PVC or inflatable air bed.
    While l was there another person was offered a much better deal at a much lower price…because he was a MAN.
    I feel that based on the 1964 Civil Rights Acts l was treated differently and unfairly.
    The sales person mentioned that only people over the age of 60 complained about over priced air mattresses.
    The bed does not sleep well, but thank goodness l have more than one bed.
    I will be paying this account in full and my lawyer will be filing a formal complaint in writing with the Federal Trade Commission.

    On behalf of Stringer Furniture, I would like to apologize for any confusion Ms X experienced with her purchase. The manufacture (Ashley Furniture) compresses all mattresses, including the innerspring mattress she purchased in boxes.
    In response to Ms X's review, Stringer furniture in no way discriminated nor treated her unfairly.
    On 10/27/2023 Ms X visited the store and inquired about the same exact mattress she had previously
    purchased from Stringer. She stated to her salesperson (*** *) how much she liked the Ashley mattress she has. *** * is the same race and very close in age to Ms X.
    On 11/04/2023 Ms X and her fiance' arrived to pick up the mattress set. Ms X's fiance' (she refers to as the "MAN" in her compliant )purchased a used mattress of a lesser value than hers. Ms X became infuriated because he did not pay for her mattress and she even shouted "Why should I even marry him?" The "MAN" her fiance' even apologized to *** * for Ms X's behavior and said she always acts out in public.
    Ms X became irrational when she realized her mattress was packaged in a box. Began ranting about it being a blow up mattress, inflatable air bed. I (*** *) tried to explain the previous mattress she bought was also packaged in a box. I also informed her stringer does not sell air mattresses or so called PVC beds, or inflatable air beds.
    Ms X accused us of discrimination because the price tag did not say it was packaged in a box. This is not in anyway a violation of The Civil Rights act of 1964.
    Ms X was offered a refund in full or an exchange. After she consulted with her fiance' and *** * she proceeded to take the same mattress she originally purchased.
    I will be glad to provide Ms X's attorney video footage of this incident, as it occurred on the showroom floor.
    I again apologize for any confusion, as Ms X has been a great customer for years.
