On 5/15/2023, I rented a car from U-Save because both of my vehicles had some mechanical issues and I had no car to get around in at that time. This place was my last resort due to Enterprise Rental not having anything available. I paid $311.00(this included the $200 deposit). The guy that checked me end, went out to get the car and he took a picture of the outside of the car. I then joined him outside to inspect the outside of the car. I left the place immediately after signing the paper to pick up my kids from school. Upon me arriving home, is when I noticed the small holes in the seats. I couldn't call back to make them aware of the damage to the seats because they were closed. I was under the impression that they had to know that they were there because I noticed them an hour later after renting. On 5/17/2023, I extended the rental days to 5/19/2023, for which I paid an extra $111.00. The same guy from before went out to the car to get the mileage and it had totally slipped my mind to mention the seat damage. On 5/19/2023, I returned the car and it was a different person who was there, and then is when they told me I can't get my deposit back due to the damage to the seat. I tried telling the person that I didn't smoke in the car at all and I noticed that damaged the day I rented. He went on to tell me that he and the lady agent didn't remember seeing those in the car. I went on to tell them that the guy did a walk around the car and didn't inspect the inside of the car at all. Usually when I rent of car from a business they inspect the outside and inside plus take pictures. The first thing I noticed in the business was a sign that stated Smoking Fee was $300. I would not dare do something that stupid to risk losing $300. I shouldn't have to pay for a previous user's mistake because I think there was no inspection done on the inside of that car from the previous user because I wasn't given a full inspection during check-in from the employee.
