On 2/26/24 I carried my mother-in-laws car to University Tire & Auto for new tires. The tires on the car were factory tires, never been changed before. Her car is a 2018 Toyota Corolla SE with 48,000 miles.
When we picked up her car, the tire pressure sensor light was on. I was told to give it some time and should go off. After a few weeks, on 3/14/24 my mother-in-law and wife carried the car back because the light was still on. The attendant, *****, checked the pressure and said all is well to travel. Never offered any other services to check what was going on.
On 3/21/24 my mother-in-law carried her car into the Toyota Dealership in Oxford to get the oil changed along with the wipers. She asked if they could find out why the tire pressure sensor light was still on. So the technician removed the tire from the rim and found that the pressure sensor on the valve stem was completely missing and not in the new tire. It had been broken by UT&A and not replaced. After replacing the sensor, the Toyota Technician documented his findings on the receipt. He gave my mother-in-law a sample of what a new sensor looked like and the broken valve stem that he removed.
We carried all this information to UT&A hoping they would honor the findings, since it cost my 83 year old mother-in-law almost $400 to fix their mistake. I was told that they would get back with us and let us know what they would do. I left my number, copy of the receipt, and the broken valve stem. After a few days we did not hear back, so I called to follow up. Long story short, after several attempts with the manager speaking to the owner, we were told there was nothing they could do.
They were given a chance to fix the problem when my m-i-l carried it back the first time. ***** remembers my m-i-l and wife bringing the car back, and now says he told them to bring it back. This is not true, they were given no solutions. The Toyota technician exposed the problem, it was broken by UT&A.

Regarding this complaint. The customer did come back and ***** checked there air pressure. And offered for us to scan and check the monitors on her car for her. But that it would be about 30 minutes before a tech would be free to do that scan. ***** was informed that they did not  have time to wait and he advised them to come back at their convenience and we would check it out.  We later hear from them that they went somewhere else and had a monitor replaced and would like for us to pay an inflated price for something we would have gladly taken care of at no cost to them.  But we were not giving the opportunity to take care of this.  And cannot in good conscience pay that inflated price.
