    Issue: Treatment not completed, provider did not find a replacement as promised, did not give me a refund as a result of incomplete treatment.

    This was 1 of my worse experiences. The staff is not forthcoming with information. If I didn't know what questions to ask then I'm not sure what information would have been provided to me. I didn't learn of any balance until I asked. I didn't learn that claims were not being submitted until I asked. I wasn't made aware that I had the opportunity to follow Dr. ******* until I asked. I was made aware of a tongue thrusting concern the same month I was informed about the orthodontist leaving. I was a patient 12+ months and a tongue thrusting issue was never brought to my attention. My orthodontic treatment was interrupted. I was offered for the orthodontist to complete my treatment a few months out but I lost my trust in this place and do not feel I was going to get the best care if I continued treatment. Appointments were constantly being pushed out due to the provider not me. This place doesn't have a patient portal so patients are unaware of any outstanding balances or claim submissions. Didn't know I had a balance until I asked. Wasn't informed on how to navigate finding a new orthodontist, nor was any assistance offered. The communication is non-existent. I didn't feel as if I was being cared for as a patient at all. Orthodontist was barely in office. Was not made aware that the orthodontist would only be in office a few times a month prior to becoming a patient. Overall not a good environment for me.

    Resolution sought after: Refund plus time and fees associated with starting new treatment with a different provider which equals = $3000.00

    Back in September, I called to make an appointment and put down a deposit for my child to see the orthodontist at this clinic. I made the appointment for November of 2022. The week before her appointment, I received a call stating that the orthodontist would no longer be taking new patients because he or she was leaving. They assured me they were working to get a new orthodontist. I knew the deposit was non-refundable originally, but since they cancelled they told me I could get it back. I called in January or Feb. of 2023 to inquire about the refund. I was told they would have to request it, and once it had been reviewed, it should be issued no problem. I called again at the end of Feb. to check on the status and was told they only review those requests 1x per month and the time had not happened yet. I called again in March, and I was told the check had to come from the main office in Georgia. I called again April/May, and it still had not gotten there yet but it was on the way and they would call me when it arrived. I just realized today (Sept 12, 2023) I have never heard back from them. I called the office has completely changed staff in August (this excuse was also used this spring so I have a hard time believing everyone left 2x in a year). The office manager was out, and no one knew what was going on (again same excuse from April/May).

    The company did send a refund which is all I was asking for.
