This company does not even deserve one star. The aggressive rogue tactics they use to extort money out of college kids is criminal. My daughter, who lives out of state, was visiting a friend in Oxford MS and parked at the apartment complex. The desk manager had left for the evening and was not there to provide a parking pass. There were many, many empty spaces in the lot. There were no towing signs or warning about restricted parking in the lot. At 3AM in the morning, Bandit showed up and took her car. No warning. No ticket from a police officer. No call from the property manager. My daughter found out early in the morning and the apartment manager told her the car was towed. My daughter got a ride out to the middle of nowhere and the Bandit people were rude and aggressive. They demanded $400 cash to get her vehicle back. She had to get other friends to help get cash together for her as she was limited to what she could get from an ATM machine. She said she needed to call her parents so they could pay with a credit card, and they said that the fine would increase if she didn't pay it NOW and in CASH. They yelled at her and had her in tears. She said she was going to call Oxford PD and they warned her it would become much worse, and she would face additional fines if the police were called. We have tried calling Bandit and they do not answer the phone. We live
more than a thousand miles away so it's not like me and my husband could go in and talk with them face to face. I called the Oxford PD and they have no control over the situation because of the current laws about towing off private property. The property managers at apartment complexes are just as apathetic and don't seem to care about the unethical practices of the towing companies. Lastly, they damaged my daughter's car and there was nothing we could do about it. Bandit Towing lives up to their name. A bunch of slimy bandit crooks that pray on and take advantage of college kids.

I wouldn't even call this a business. My daughter was at her friends apt studying, the tow truck driver had booted 2 vehicles, he told them $160 in cash then & he'd remove the boot, my daughter didn't have cash on her nor did the owner of the other vehicle, but he told her he was taking my daughters car first and she could run to the ATM, not sure why mine wasn't offered the same as he wasn't hooked to either yet. Long story short because it's the same as all the rest. They go to the ATM to get her $342.40 in cash the next day, which is a red flag to me that its cash only, but anyway, once they got there with their money they were told that one of the $20s was fake because it was ripped, it came directly out of the ATM. Wow! And, they wouldn't let my other daughter in there with her while she was paying, the lady said it was "saving her money" to have my other daughter go wait outside, whatever that means. As she was walking out this guy came out too and was actually being nice to her, but went on to say he was their lawyer, not sure if they were trying to intimidate her or what. Honestly it's so bad its almost comical at this point. I spoke to a police officer about it and he said that there's an ordinance being passed hopefully, that will not allow apartment complexes to have contracts with towing companies. And shame on the apartment complexes that do already have this contract, I understand that parking can be an issue, but it needs to be posted and not left up to the kids to have to let their visitors know. Sounds like Bandit Towing will be out of business since this is the only business they have, nobody requests them. I also feel like its creepy that the driver was taking pics of my daughter and her friends while shining a flashlight directly at them and then tells me he didn't and that my daughter lied to me, I was actually on facetime with her and saw it!

First time our college student visited his friends at Oxford and parked in an unmarked spot at a friend's apt complex (another friend parked right next to him in same kind of spot and not towed). Towed at 5:40 am, showed up next day to get his car with someone working at the facility but would not let him in to pay for his car and was told to leave the premises immediately. Charged for two days storage even though they were "closed" (I'm sure still towing other vehicles). Towing for a five mile drive should not cost $275, and should not charge an extra $50 for a day when you have people working but can't get your car back. Crooked and price gouging is an understatement!!! Should be shut down!!!!! I would put a zero rating if I could!

I am a college student who lives in an apartment that employs Bandit Towing. I have had two very negative experiences with this towing company over small details where I was in the wrong, however I feel as if they used their legal ability to take advantage of me and my roommates. While predatory towing is legal, it is morally wrong. A vast majority of the people they tow are college students. Some of which, are barely making it and can't afford to pay 300 dollars on the spot due to a parking pass that is 10 minutes expired. They purposely do 24/7 towing but limit their office hours to squeeze extra money out of people. I do own up to my mistakes however this business is not reasonable with people and takes every edge they can just to get an extra dollar. I realize that writing this will probably change nothing but maybe I can help bring awareness to the situation.

Would have to agree with all of these reviews. I parked my car outside my apartment complex at 9:00pm for me to find it towed at 11:00pm. When calling to ask if my car was towed, man over the phone was rude, of course. The parking spot was not properly labeled, very faded, did not say reserved. This is a 24/7 towing company, however, their business hours are only 8:00-5:00 Monday-Friday. Their towing fee is $275, which is already ridiculous to tow something 5 miles away. They have an additional fee of $45 for storage fee (per calendar day). Given the fact that my car was towed AFTER business hours, I was unable to get it until the next morning. Yet I was still charged the extra $45 for their inconvenience of having to keep my car because I could not pick it up. Of course when I went to get my car and was clearly frustrated about this, the man working raised his voice at me "MA'AM would you like me to explain the fees to you?", then proceeded to tell me what I already knew. After he got my car out I proceeded to tell him I would be reporting this to the Better Business Bureau. He told me "good luck with that."

Terrible buisness. Aptly named for how they steal money from folks. This place illegally tows vehicles and targets apartment complexes that house out-of-town college students so that they can up-charge them. The towing place is located just outside of town so they can upcharge! This is a shady towing company! They have no respect for customers who are trying to get their vehicles back! They didn't want my spouse to give me money while standing inside the building. They raised theor voices and got smart several times. They are very unprofessional at the most! I felt threatened when I was alone in the small building with 3 men! They tried to bully and intimidate me the entire time I was alone with them. They called another man and he told them if we didn't shut up and stop asking questions they would charge us more! The audacity of them when they already charged me $400.00 for an overnight stay! They are a band of hooligans with no respect! This business should NOT be in business. They have very inappropriate behavior and no respect for the customers. I walked outside and 1 of the workers told my husband we got your money now get the fuck off our property! So I will tell yall to never ever get towed by them. I don't know how they are even in business. They deserve 0000 stars because they are Horrible!! This company is Very Dhafy!!! Oxford community yall need to run them out of business they are bad for the city and county! This is a predatory company.

They FOLLOWED my 18 year old daughter into a college apartment complex, she parked in an unmarked spot..for guests, and when she got out to go in her friends place, they had her car hooked up and wouldn’t talk to her. In less than 20 minutes, she was parked, they had it hooked up, and towing it. 300.00, cash only, for a 5 mile tow. They will not give receipts so I’m sure are not reporting any of their cash intake. She was not parked illegally. And they have no way of proving she was because they don’t keep records. Reading google reviews, you will see so many of the same situation. Something needs to be done about these men taking advantage of college students who are unable to defend themselves except pay them cash to get their cars back with no receipt. As i was on the phone with her, she asked them was there a sign that said she couldn’t park in the unnumbered spots, he cussed as he was talking to her, was so rude and could only respond with she was on private property. We tried talking to him as well and got the same response. They are jerks, they are thief’s, and they are scam artist. I have sent a complaint to the Attorney Generals office as well as the federal trade commission. Something has to be done to stop this man from doing what he is doing.

Good afternoon, Ms. ****. The vehicle in which you are referring to, is a 2014 white Toyota 4-Runner, towed from The Flatts at South Campus, on Wednesday, April 19th, 2023 at 3:04PM. This vehicle was towed due to the pass not being visible (flipped over). If the pass is not clearly visible nor placed correctly, it is the same as not having it, due to not being able to verify if the pass is valid or expired. Also, if you read the back of the pass, it clearly states, " THIS SIDE MUST BE FACING DOWN. THE FRONT OF THE PASS MUST BE VISIBLE TO THE TOW COMPANY OR THE VEHICLE WITH BE TOWED AT OWNER'S EXPENSE WITHOUT FURTHER NOTIFICATION." Please note, that when my driver's enter a property and see a vehicle in violation of the apartment complex's rules, he does not know how long they have been there, what they're doing, nor who they are. These rules are given to us by the apartment complex to enforce that they are being followed by everyone. When entering and exiting the property, you will find that there are signs stating, " you will be towed at owner's expense." Whoever she is visiting, it is their responsibility as a resident, to inform her of the apartment complex's rules. As for pricing, when the vehicle is fully loaded and the driver is ready to leave, it is full tow price, $294.25. We are a cash only facility, therefore, we only accept cash. If the cash is not on hand then my driver has to continue his job. We do not wait on scene due safety issues/liabilities. I apologize if this was an inconvenience to you or your daughter, as we have a job to do. My drivers are very thorough and pay attention to detail, hence, why we take numerous photos of that vehicle before it is ever touched. I will attach all my documentation, so you can see the thoroughness of my record keeping, for yourself. Also, a receipt is given to each and everyone who enters our impound office, whether they want it or not. As a Private Property Towing Company, we do not work based off of reviews. We work based off of making sure our apartment complex's are satisfied. No one is ever happy when their vehicle is towed, specifically, from private property. My drivers are professionally stern in every encounter, even when approached with confrontation. As our job is not an easy one to do. I apologize if this encounter seemed unpleasant. However, I will ensure professionalism is maintained to the best of my ability. I have received your complaint from the Attorney General office, in which you should have my response. As for the Federal Trade Commission, we are a fully functional legal business and I would encourage you to reconsider your attempts to challenge the information I'm giving you. Thank you for your understanding, Ms. *****. Have a great day.

My wife is guarantor of an apt our daughter rents while in college. She was delivering groceries the first week of returning from Christmas break. Less than an hour of being in apt, she was leaving and walked out to find a man in the process of putting a boot on vehicle. When she told him she was leaving, he carried on. He told her the cost would be $294.25 CASH ONLY. She told him she didn’t have that much cash but could pay with a debit card. He refused and raised the cost $50 to retrieve vehicle the next day beginning at 8a.m. She offered to go to the bank to get cash but he said he didn’t have time and told her to excuse him while he proceeded. She called police to retrieve personal belongings such as personal care items, daily meds & supper, but he refused. My father is dying with cancer & gotten worse this week. My wife was in my parent’s vehicle as her’s was in body shop after an accident in Nov. She told him the importance of her needing to get vehicle home due to my father’s health, but he said it didn’t matter and more or less like he didn’t care a life was at risk. My wife called the police back several times but they transferred back to towing company. He threatened to increase her charge if she called again. She did call towing company under the instructions of the local police. He was very rude, arrogant & refused to hear her situation. I do not know where to pick up vehicle. She had to ask police for the name & #. My wife interrupted towing process BEFORE booting vehicle and demanded CASH ONLY to stop him! No one was seeking 2 empty parking spaces on each side of our daughter’s parked paid/reserved parking spot paid by me and my wife! Even after towing company left, those same 2 parking spaces remained empty. I feel this is a ripoff and a form of extortion! If I could rate a negative star, I would! ????
No value for human life but seemed more interested in raising fee and never forget CASH ONLY!

Afternoon, Mr. *********. Your vehicle, a white Dodge Caravan, was towed from the Archive Apartments on Thursday, January 26, 2023 at 10:21PM. Please note, that when my driver enters a property for routine patrols and sees a car in violation of the apartment complex's rules; he does not know how long that car has been there, what they're doing, nor who they are. If that vehicle isn't within the rules/guidelines we are given from the Apartment complex, then it is a tow at owner's expense. If your wife was told $294.25 that is because my driver already had the vehicle fully loaded and ready to leave when she exited the building to speak with him. We are cash only facility, therefore I apologize if this was an inconvenience for you or her. We do not wait on scene for a cash run due to this being a safety issue as well as a liability for my driver. If you do not have it on hand, it is a tow. Belongings can only be released through the impound office due to paperwork that has been done. The impound office has normal business hours of M-F 8AM-5PM, Weekends/Holidays 8AM-10PM, whereas, the truck runs 24/7. There is also signage when you enter and exit this property that states you will be towed. Also, if your daughter is the one who lives there, then she has been provided the rules through her email and has been made very aware of them. Therefore, it is her responsibility, as a resident of the Archive, to notify any visitors she may have. As far as your personal situation, sir, that is personal and our job is business. I apologize that you were going through a difficult situation during this time, but we treat everyone equally. No matter the circumstances. You were towed for being parked in Reserved spot, #155. Those spots are paid for by residents to guarantee they have a designated spot for them, at all times. We are given rules to enforce and guarantee those Reserved spots By the apartment complex. Thank you for your understanding. Have great day.
