Had them do an install for a fitness studio.1. Sent me a bill for $17,000 after I had paid the account in full, no apology for their mistake.2. Showed up two weeks late for install and upset that other workers were on site to get the build out done on time.3. Rushed job, "finishing" in one day rather than the two they were scheduled for.4. Electrician and contractor had hung electrical wiring and conduit according to plans, the crew said it needed to be "higher" than the mirrors, so the work was redone. 5. Conduit and equipment were ripped down off the wall after the electrician and contractor had left for the day and damaged beyond repair. The work then had to be done for a third time, resulting in an expensive change order to my build out.6. No chance to view their work before they left town - many issues and incomplete work.7. They did not fasten and secure lockers against the wall as they were supposed to and this could have been a major injury, had they fallen over on someone.8. Left a LARGE pile of trash behind the building, when they could have used the building's dumpster, causing ANOTHER additional bill from the contractor.9. Contractor and myself have reached out to *********************, the owner, and he has clearly stated he will not cover the additional charges caused by negligence and damage done by his crew.10. Now having to go through small claims court to try and get reimbursed for the $3,200. bill I have covered.

    Business Response

Every statement in this complaint is 100% false. We did not charger her an additional 17k after she paid her balance in full. ******* only paid her deposit initially which left a 17k balance at the end. We did not rush through the job, as jobs can take 1 to 2 days depending on several factors. The placement of the electrical conduit was indicated incorrectly on the drawing set she got from HOTWORX corporate; these are not provided by our company. We asked the electricians to move them and put them where they need to be so that our crew could finish the job, they moved them to the wrong location yet again and left the site. Our crew had to carefully remove them from the wall to install our portion of the work required of us. This conduit was carefully laid on the ground to be reinstalled and was not damaged beyond repair or even damaged at all. Our contract states that all conduit must be in its correct location and that we are not responsible for conduit installed in the wrong location. It also states that no other workers are to be on site while we finish our portion of the work. We were instructed by ******* to leave the trash where it was as there was no dumpster on site, and she would get her GC to move it. ******* had no luck going to corporate and asking them for refund as the mistake of having sent drawings with conduit in the wrong location lies solely on them. after being told that they would not help her, she pursued a refund from our company, who had zero fault whatsoever.

I am rejecting this response because:

I have tried many times, in many different ways, to settle this somehow.  Pictures do not lie - the conduit was "ripped" down and when I spoke with the team leader, ****, that night - he was obviously angry and told me over the phone that they were going to work through the night so they would not have to come back and finish the next day.
It is apparent that he did NOT want to deal with the construction team in regard to what that crew did to the equipment.  They also knew there was a dumpster located in the front of the building and chose to stack that much trash in the back of the building.  I said I would sweep up after them, after giving them $40 cash toward their dinner that night.  I NEVER insinuated I would clean up a large pile of trash.
This has certainly escalated far beyond what a reasonable business negotiation could solve, and I am disappointed in every way with the owner of this company.
