I’ve Been A Member Ever Since October Of 2019. I’m Posting This As Of January 2024, So 5 Years. I Appreciated The Gym Very Much Because I Go Consecutively. I Know Most Of The Workers, Past Workers, And People There. They Welcomed Me Respectively. That Respect Has Been Shattered. So It’s January 24th Of 2024. I Come In And Do My Usual Workout. Midway From It, Two Employees Came And Addressed A Problem About Me Using The Women’s Locker Room Because It’s Making Some People Uncomfortable. This Is All News To Me Because I’m Transgender, I’m Labeled As Female, And I Already Brought That To Attention The First Thing When I Applied For A Membership. I’ve Been Using The Women’s Locker Room Ever Since. Even Female Workers And Members See Me Go About My Business And Continue On My Workout. Mind You, It’s Been 5 Years. I Have Not Had Any Issues At All Nor Have There Been Reports And Incidents As They Implied. They Said There Have Been “Multiple” Records But I Have Yet To Hear About Those “Multiple” Records. They Also Said That They’ve Called Me Before Yet I Have Any Records Of Them Calling About It. They Didn’t Even Leave A Voicemail Nor Email For A Follow Up Because If This Was A Critical Issue, They Would’ve Contact Me Regardless. They Are Going Against Their Equal Opportunity Statement. Their Suggestion Is To Go Use The Men’s Locker Room Or If Thats Uncomfortable For Me, As A Transgender, Is To Go Next Door And Use The Restroom, Which Makes No Sense In What I Paid For As A Member If I’m Now Limited In My Amenities. This IS GENDER DISCRIMINATION. Addressing Issues Like This Would’ve Been Said So From The Beginning. Not Years From Now! I Shouldn’t Have To Feel Degraded Because I Make Someone Uncomfortable For My Identity. Cameras Are All Around The Gym Surveilling And They See Me. Of Course There Are No Cameras In The Locker Room But Had Their Been An Incident Of Sexual Harassment Or Abuse, It Would’ve Already Been Called Upon. They Have No Right To Infringe Upon My Identity!Club4 Fitness

Ms. ***'s experience is unfortunate if, as she states, she presented government-issued documentation at the time she signed up that indicate that the locker room facilities that she was utilizing are appropriate. As Human Resources Director, I will involve the appropriate Regional and CLUB-based management personnel to launch a thorough investigation of the matter. Per policy, all members provide government-issued identification that delineates which changing/locker room facilities are theirs to use freely. In addition, nearly all CLUB4 facilities have a Family Dressing Area that is available for use by all members and guests when not otherwise occupied.
Follow up into the facts behind the concern about use of a specific locker room will continue and apologies will be issued if Ms. *** was correctly using the room that would have been prescribed by her identification document presented at the time she first purchased her membership.Jackii M.

This Is Your Policy On Your Business And It States:
This Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Policy Statement has been established to ensure that all CLUB4 Fitness and CLUB at Township employees are protected from discrimination under all local, State and, Federal laws which protect against discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, sex (including pregnancy, GENDER IDENTITY, and sexual orientation), parental status, national origin, age, disability, genetic information (including family medical history), political affiliation, and military service. These protections extend to all management practices and decisions, including recruitment and hiring, promotions, training, and career development programs. Consistent with these obligations, CLUB4 Fitness also provides reasonable accommodation to employees and applicants with disabilities and for holding religious beliefs, observances. and practices.
With That Being Said, Why Is There No Equal Rights For Members? What Policy Does It State In Your Business That To Have To Address It Based On My ID? Mr. ****, The General Manager For Club4Schillinger, Says It’s “Stated” In Our Terms And Agreements. I Looked At Every Nook And Cranny And Nothing Is Stated Based Upon My Situation. As A Trans Female, There Shouldn't Even Be An Investigation For What My Gender Is On My Government-Issued Documentation. People Like Me Who Live Their Life As Possible As They Can, Can Not Afford To Change Our Genders Fully. We Have To Make What Me Can Do With What We Have. I Have Been A Trans Woman For 14 Years And It’s Still A Struggle To Transition Based On Limited Rights And Regulations. It's Against Civil Rights. This Is Discrimination. We Are ALL Human Beings. I Should Not Be Alienated Base Upon My Identity. This Is Disregarding My Comfort In Regards To Others Who Supposedly Complain With No Evidence. Just Because They’re Uncomfortable Doesn’t Mean I Have Caused Any Harm. Many Of You Female Employees And Members Have Seen Me Using The Ladies Room Without Issues So Why Now Is It An Issue To Others Who Don’t Know Me, Assuming Who Or “What” I Am? The Schillinger Location Does NOT Have A Family Restroom. I Should Not Have To Go To Another Location Because Of That. My Main Location Is the Location I Signed Up At, So Therefore, I Should Have The Respect To Go About My Business Like I Have Done For 5 Years Of No Problems. What Difference Does It Make Knowing That I’m In The Same Building Working Out Possibly Next To Them Unintentionally? I Use The Women’s Restroom If I Have To Use It. I Don’t Change, Nor Do I Use Te Showers. I Do My Business And Go About My Day Or Workout. How Does Other Members Who Don’t Know Me, Know What’s In Between My Legs Or My Identification? It’s Not Their Business Or Anyone’s To Know. This Affects The Mental Health. People Like Me Don't Just Go To Get Fit. I Go Because It's Like My Therapy. For Them To Strip My Access To The Women's Restroom, You Don't Understand The Circumstances When A Trans Woman Gets Denied Access To The Women's Restroom Having To Use The Men’s Being Called “F*ggot” Or Humiliated And Harassed. Or That I Might Have To Change And A Man Stares At Me Making Me Even More Uncomfortable. Planet Fitness Respectfully Addresses Their Policy For Trans People. As They Being Your Competitor, You Guys Should Abide With The Same Morals And Principles For People Like Me To Feel Welcomed And Not Limited. I Cancelled My Membership Back In 2019 To Switch To Club4 Because It Was Convenient As It’s Closer To My House And Salon That I Work At. Had I Know I Would Get Disrespected IN PUBLIC Addressing This Issue While I Was On The Treadmill IN FRONT OF MANY MEMBERS, Then I Would’ve Never Signed Up And Wasted My 5 Years Paying For This Business And Sticked To Planet Fitness Since They Have A NO JUDGEMENT Policy Regardless Of The Locker/Restrooms. Transgender People — Like All People— Deserve To Live Their Lives Without The Government Compromising Their Privacy, Safety, Autonomy, Dignity, Or Equality. This Discrimination Forces Transgender Alabamians To Out Themselves Every Time Someone Sees Their Driver’s License, Which Puts Them, ME, At Increased Risk For Violence And Harassment. People Should Educate Themselves On Respecting People No Matter Who Or “What” They Are. Nothing But Spreading Hate. Club4 “Policy” And Its Workers Could Save A Life Knowing That They Are Welcoming People Like Me By Educating Themselves From Not Separating Us From Others. One Nation Under God. I Have To See A Therapist More Due To This Mental Trauma When The Gym Is Suppose To Be My Therapy. Also, You Guys Prohibit Video And Photography “Without Consent” But There’s No Consent Because Pick And Choose Things Without Righteousness.Review fromRandy K

This gym is a complete joke and both management and company practices are unscrupulous (as an accountant, I KNOW there would be fraud uncovered if they were audited). Avoid Club4 at all costs; there are plenty of other gyms around that are much better (and cleaner!).
1. Joining: if you absolutely MUST sign up for this sorry *** gym, don't agree to anything more than the $10 monthly membership. If you sign up for the Premium Plus membership like I did, they'll try to charge you $50 to downgrade. They'll tell you it's in the Club Agreement, but it IS NOT. When you point out to them that it isn't in the Club Agreement, the manager will just tell you it's their policy, even though it isn't posted anywhere. Lol. What a scam.
2. Cancellation: they lure you in under the pretense that the gym is contract-free, no commitment, etc. Eh, that's half true. You do need to cancel prior to 30 days before the next payment is due to get out of it.
3. Management: no customer centricity whatsoever. I'm not surprised because the employee turnover is astronomical, and if you read other reviews here, you'll see why: Cole, the manager. They don't enforce rules, here either. People are always naked or in only their underwear in the sauna. Disgusting.
4. Personal Training: Immediately they will try to sell you on personal training when you join, which is just a money grab. You will not see results lol. You won't even make it 3 months with the same "personal trainer" with their high turnover rate. We paid $100 monthly each for 3 months for personal training and weren't even notified when our trainer quit. I was also injured during workouts with them twice because they don't know what they're doing. They just hire college kids who need a job.
When my membership ends, I will not be returning. Read the other 1* reviews; they're true.Club4 Fitness

This comment is mainly about Club4's $50 "membership downgrade fee" that isn't in the Club Agreement I signed or posted anywhere, yet your General Manager told me it was in my Club Agreement.Review fromEric L

They kept charging me after they refused my cancellation. I have attempted in person and over the phone to cancel my gym membership, but each month I have received notice that they are trying to charge me. The only way to cancel is to do it online after you have paid their fraudulent claims.Club4 Fitness

would give this place zero stars if I could: In July 2022, I attempted to cancel my account, instead one of their untrained employees decided to pause my account instead, I was unaware & assumed it was canceled. Fast forward a few months later (October 2022)I start getting charged from the gym again I called the office to address this, they had no clue what was going on and why wasnt canceled and gave no solution. I cancelled it at that moment. a few days later I started getting calls and emails and text messages every day multiple times a day from the billing agency and collections for this past due charge. On top of the monthly payment I also got charged an annual fee of $50 so my total collections was $75. As someone who cancelled their account in July I was ****** and not prepared to pay this. I contacted the gym again, and I contacted the billing agency and they couldnt give me a solution once again(surprise surprise). I eventually sucked it up and paid the bill of ***** after going back-and-forth with collections and the bill ****** for several weeks. 2 days after I made the $75 payment I see that theres an account balance of ***** They said its for the following months membership because I did not cancel in time for it not to roll over and count towards the 30 day notice the gym required. ****** (the manager, ********* **), of course, could not do anything for me and waive the membership cost for that month even after I explained all of the issues I have dealt with. Again, at this point, I am debating on paying it and putting it behind me. As I go to pay it, I open my app and see ***** with no explanation. I am pending a response from the manager, which I can anticipate will be just as useless as the times before for this mysterious $9.50 charge. This company will literally try to rob you and make it seem like its your fault. I urge you to find a company/gym that will take care of their customers and gives a s*** about them.Club4 Fitness

If there was something lower than one star on here, I would give them that. Unprofessional, rude, accused me urinating in the tanning bed garbage cans and cancelled my membership?? I thought this was a joke when I first heard the voicemail from the manager. Seriously? Peeing in the garbage can? Then they figured out it wasn't me and reactivated it. A year later I went there to cancel the membership because this place is so nasty and unsanitary, once the employee at the front desk finally looked up from being on his phone the entire time he said he used my cellphone to access the app and assured me my membership was cancelled. Now I am getting an alert saying they placed my account in collections and put it on my credit report. I have never not paid a bill in my life. When I went there and asked them about this, they were rude, dismissive, and just completely unprofessional. I will never step foot in this place again. Everyone that asks me about this place I tell them this whole story and let them listen to the voicemail the girl left me. I have tried to contact corporate and nobody ever gets back to me. I am a small business owner in the community and this is a **** poor way to do business, no pun intended. This review is going to have much more of a negative impact on their business than the $250 they put on my credit report. I have been fighting with them for over a year about this. Spoke with GM **** and another rude Regional Manager whose name I can't remember. Call regional office: nine eight five seven seven one five nine two zero to use for complaints. They refuse to let you talk to anyone and just shut you down and say well you didn't cancel. My name is *********************** and I am a former member here. Tons of reports about how awful this place is on *******Club4 Fitness

I canceled in March, one day after the yearly renewal was promised a refund, which I never got. Now it's October, and they have sent me to collections for nonpayment since I told my bank to stop paying. I have canceled. I have sent 14 emails requesting cancellation, but they refuse to do proper business. I do not recommend Club 4 or any of their locations.Club4 Fitness

Lost my credit card and didn't tell them. Now I owe them $200. There is a process to cancel your membership that wasn't thoroughly explained when I signed up. Unfortunately, I didn't have my attorney read the fine print (sarcasm). If you don't follow the process they will continue to charge your card and then send you to a collections firm. This business plan for gym membership cancelation is a scam. I sent in a letter requesting cancelation of my membership per the guidelines I found on a ****** search. You cannot get anyone on the phone from this company. I have called multiple times after receiving calls from their billing department that is all automated. There is no number for the actual gym in ********** to reach out regarding these calls. Now I am getting emails regarding being turned over to collections after my credit card not processing ** the initial reason my card was declined was because my card information had been stolen. I opted to cancel my membership after having my card information stolen. I am absolutely disgusted with the not lack, but no customer service, this company has. They have multiple locations but no customer service?Club4 Fitness

I was manipulated into a Personal Training 6 month contract. The gym I had been going to for 2.5 years closed down in Dec of 2021, I was moving to another state within the first 5 months of 2022, so I only wanted a short term personal training until I moved and expressed this to the manager that signed me up, I would never have knowingly signed a 6 month contract because I was moving out of state with a 3 to 4 month time frame. The verbiage that was used was to manipulate me into thinking that I was signing a month to month contract and that I could cancel at any time. It wasn't until march when I called to cancel my Personal training that I was then told that I could put my "contract" on hold for a certain amount of months, but that I was still responsible for the remainder of the contract and this is when I was informed that I had actually signed a 6 month contract.I also have an issue with ************* membership because when I called to cancel that membership (because again I was moving out of state) they told me that I would have to Physically come into the gym and sign some paperwork and get a Code to be entered into their software app, and this was the ONLY way I could cancel. This was not disclosed at the time that I signed up for the gym. I didn't learn this until I tried to call and cancel. So, before I moved I did exactly what I was instructed to do, went into the gym, got the code from the front desk and entered it into the app as directed. My membership was cancelled. Later after moving I realized I was still being charged for my monthly membership fee. I called to try dispute this but was told the ONLY way they could help me is if I physically came back in and got a Code to enter into their App, which I could not do because I moved out of state AND the state that I moved to doesn't have ANY Club4fitness establishments. I eventually had to have my entire bank account closed and reopened with a different account number to get them to STOP charging me!Club4 Fitness
