I also have issues with the bills from ***. I reached out to both medical and ************, both said *** should bill my pain mgmt. ** and he, in turn, can bill insurance. When I 1st called AIS they told me if I give them copies of income checks @/or tax return they can reduce amount due. No thanks, dont want to give out personal info. What I find most strange is the difference in amounts being billed to others for similar things. I was charged $85 per pain pump refill. They originally charged me per-diem fees but changed to $85 per fill. I told them I never ordered meds from them and I dont have a contract agreeing to pay anything. I just left a message telling them they can bill my doctor if they want, but Im not paying for a bill that I never agreed to. Coincidentally, i had major infection and had to have pump removed. The outcome of this billing practice plays into if I get a new pump or not.

This company is charging my husband $3,000 per month in perpetuity for a baclofen injection in early March, despite the fact that I lost my health insurance and canceled all services on March 22. I cannot get them to stop billing me! I even asked if they could remove the drug from my husband’s bloodstream (a joke). They can’t do that, but apparently they can continue to bill us $3,000 per month forever.

Like others, I am a pain patient. Luckily, I have good insurance. I a
Have my pump filled about every three months, but they charge per month, even if I don’t have a refill. They bill different amounts every time. In January it was $3,720 and they were paid $2061.50 by my insurance company, I did not use their services that month. I called my insurance company and Medicare, but there were no good answers to why it was so expensive. Without insurance, I could not afford it. My heart breaks for others who don’t have such good insurance.

If I could give no stars I would. AIS is practicing very suspect billing policies. Before they were aware of my insurance I was being charged $40 per pump fill. As soon as they became aware of my insurance, the pump fill skyrocketed to approximately $1750.00 per fill and my United Healthcare Medicare Advantage plan was paying for most of it, but I was being charged approximately 10% of the bill. I have recently switched to as Medicare Supplement plan (for about $190.00 monthly (which pays the gap between Medicare and the balance). Everything went fine for about 6 months, when suddenly they charged me $85.00 directly. When I called to ask the origin of the charge they said that it was for compounding and filling the prescription. Medicare would not pay for bills direct to me, according to them. Probably because it is not a legitimate charge; the prescription is billed to the ordering pain doctor as it should be. Upon pressing them further for the reason for the charge, they would not offer an explanation. I told my doctor's office and said that AIS was chosen by their home office and he could not change the source, so I am entering a complaint with the home office. He was aware of many past complaints, but had not heard of anything recently; he said their billing practices were very suspect. Stay away from this company. They should be investigated by the FDA, a Senator or someone. I hesitate posting this review for fear of revenge billing by them.
