      My daughter had an appointment May 12,2023 to discuss a tonsillectomy due to enlarged tonsils over a long period of time. This was the first time meeting Dr. ******. We waited and we’re finally seen only for a brief conversation about when we could plan surgery. We had a vacation scheduled 06/19-06/23 and he suggested we wait until the next week. We were charged a copay for the visit- no big deal, and told to come back 06/28 and surgery would be 06/30. Nothing else was discussed. I have not received a phone call as to what to expect for todays visit. We showed up promptly. We wait 35 minutes in a room until finally Dr. ****** comes in. who knows nothing but says surgery center will tell me what I need to know. Then a nurse comes in and tells me where to go, gives me address and states don’t eat/drink after midnight etc. She then takes me to the business office where the lady tells me that I have a deposit due for Dr. ****** today of $650 and I will also have three other deposits due today when I get over to the surgery center. Wouldn’t that have been important information to give me in May and not two days before surgery? I have no idea what the surgery center is about to lay on me. I ask to reschedule the surgery so I can prepare. The next available is the week school starts. This defeats the whole purpose of even making the May appointment. I probably shouldn’t have planned a vacation and wouldn’t have if I had known what we would be looking at out of pocket, but no one bothered to indicate such. They charged me $106 today for the visit ($40 copay again and the other is what my insurance didn’t cover to have her surgery scheduled in May). I’m sure I’ll get another bill as well. These people do not care about you or your children. They want your money. Today. I would have been fine with it if they cared to give me a heads up, but no. It’s due today without warning and since I didn’t have it I am still being charged for a pointless visit.
