Worst bank I've ever had!!! I trusted them and they let me down big time and I lost $20,000!!! Thanks a lot fraud team for your amazing work!!!!!!! NOT. SCAMMED OUT OF $20,000 AND THEY WON'T BACK IT. THIS WAS MY HUSBAND'S MONEY, HE IS A DISABLED VETERAN AND WE LIVE ON HIS DISABILITY!!!! I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND YOU TO MY WORST ENEMY.

This bank uses a service for their debit cards. If you fall behind on your credit card, your debit card will stop working stopping access to what cash you do have. When choosing a bank, make sure they issue their own debit cards and don't use a debit card service from credit card companies if you don't want your ability to access your cash stopped.

I'm a former Great Western customer, ***************************************** acquired them and sent me notifications they we're transferring my account to their business. This was an old account for me and I live in a state out of network. I called to attempt to close my account and they said I'd have to make an online request. I did. They sent 2 emails affirming my account had been closed. Well a month later I get a call asking when I was going to activate my new card. I say my account was closed one month prior. They transfer me and my account is still open, and further more they will not entertain another request until my account balance is ****. Guess what? I didn't ever activate my card. And AFTER they ascerted it was closed I tossed my old info. So I had to drive 6 hrs to the closest bank to withdraw the money and get it closed. This of course was at my own time and expense. AND they charged me fees. This bank, Of whom I never wanted to even be affiliated with, was terrible about it. In fact I just called to verify my account was closed, it actually was. But to simply get some kind of acknowledgement I started to tell them my story, they hung up on me mid sentence. Stay away.

My complaint is based on a lost debit card that they cannot replace in less then 3 weeks!! Other banks get you a new card in **** days . Getting necessities like gas and food are impossible without my debit card and they are being very unprofessional about rectifying the situation. Worst bank ever to do business with. Very disappointed this was the financial institution that took over for Great Western at least GW would have had my replacement card out to me by now

I had and account with Great Western and had no problems with them, until they were acquired by First Interstate Bank. Before the merger, First Interstate sent me a brochure saying that the transition from Great Western to First Interstate would be seamless, no changes would be made to my account. Then when I needed information on my account history, I could only see ******** February, May, and June, which wasn't what I wanted when looking for a house. Fast forward to July when I was supposed to receive my direct deposit and found that my direct deposit wasn't there. I asked the payroll from my work what happened and he said that others had the same issue and he was told that the routing numbers had changed and the checks were mailed out. I called the 800 number and the Representative said that my routing number changed. I asked him what the number was and when he read it back to me, it was the same number that I've always had. Because this was mailed out, I fell behind on my payments because they were auto-pay. Also, my employer's payroll department alerted me that my next check would likely be mailed out as well, so I changed my direct deposit to another bank. It's a shame because the local branch is staffed with friendly people and is almost always open, which was why I joined Great Western to begin with.

We confirmed that all the Great Western routing numbers are still open and active. All Checks and ACH are processed as normal. As per the client conversion guide mailed to all clients and available on our website, we will continue to honor routing numbers through January 2023. As a part of conversion, all ****************** ACH items generated a NOC (Notice of Change) that was sent to the originator(s) anytime an ACH was used a ****************** routing number. This was a "pre-notice" to encourage originators to update the routing number information. *********************** employer could have continued using the ****************** routing number or could have opted to use the First Interstate Bank routing number. We are very sorry for any frustration or disruption experienced by **************. We are proud to welcome our ****************** neighbors and clients and would love another chance to earn her trust.

When First Interstate took over ****************** the integration was a nightmare. My QB account was so messed up I spent hours and hours on the phone with QB trying to fix what the importing function did to my account. I was told by a GWB account manager that Zelle was going to be an option with First Interstate, it is not. I was told the integration would go smooth. It did not. After hours of struggling, phone calls to First Interstate, no communication option with GWB, I pulled the plug.First Interstate made my job of trying to run my business a disaster because I had to try to fix their s**** ups.I cancelled my account with First Interstate within a week or so of the integration nightmare. Here we are today, July 23, 2022, and I get a new business debit card in the mail, for a business account that was cancelled end of May 2022.Do I need to say any more.
