    My mother passed away December 14, 2022 and I tried to cancel my moms car insurance through this company. They didnt offer any condolences and only asked What happened?. They then told me I needed power of attorney and to take it to the courts. I called up Progressive Insurance myself, received many condolences and was able to cancel without even providing a death certificate. I would NOT recommend this rude business to anyone.

    *******,First, please accept our condolences for the passing of your mother. As with any review, I first seek to determine who assisted you. The person who answered your call would have been the very first to offer condolences and she has indicated she did so. You are correct in that she asked "what happened", purely out of concern.The protocol we are required to follow as an insurance agent in these situations can be different than those of the insurance company. My employee was correct in asking for a copy of the death certificate as well as evidence of "power of attorney". This is merely for our client's protection to confirm anyone making the request to change or cancel their insurance is valid.I am pleased Progressive was able to handle this for you seamlessly.

    First off, thank you. Finally some condolences. I will just sum up my lengthy statement by saying that there are people who lie. Especially when it comes to saving their own butts. Your employee tried telling me the second time I called, that she had said sorry. That is just frankly untrue. I wish I would have recorded it, but I did not. Unfortunately, I look like the angry, grieving son. There is a reason for my anger, and that is for how I was treated.
