This dealership didnt care to properly check my vehicle. They claimed that they did a test and determined it was a blown head gasket and would cost 15k. They knew I was from out of town and I was hurrying to get back home to VA cause my brother was in the hospital and later died. I took my truck to a local mechanic I found from a little elderly gentleman I met at the local diner. ****, the owner of the shop informed me that it was only a coolant hose that had came off and needed to be reattached. Relatively cheep fix $390! I had already purchased the truck from Denny Menholt Chevrolet out of desperation to haul the horses home and get home to my brother. I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS DEALERSHIP TO ANYONE! Their service teams ability to diagnose a vehicle is deplorable! Then you throw in the sales team and their shady way of doing business changing the amounts and the interest rates left and right including while I had already signed only to have to sign a new copy!?! I had asked the service department for an in writing estimate and he refused to give it to me, he said it was 15k and not worth fixing. Its a shame that people take advantage of out of town folks.

Mrs. ******* ******* came to Denny Menholt Chevrolet on the afternoon of 11/13/25, Mrs. ******* entered the service area and stated that her 2011 Silverado was experiencing issues with the Def system, claiming that the vehicle was about to go into limp mode,at this time the customer also stated that she saw white and black smoke coming from the exhaust and noticed that what she believed was a coolant leak. In my opinion Denny Menholt Chevrolet addressed Mrs. ******** concerns and did a thorough inspection of the vehicle as we do with all customers. At this time the vehicle was taken to a mechanic and inspected in full. Upon inspection of the vehicle the mechanic noticed several issues with the vehicle, and this is not uncommon based and the year and the miles. 1. The vehicle had had a mechanical failure and needed head gaskets, 2. The vehicle needed a glow plug,3. the vehicle also had the rear pinion seal. They also recommended routine maintenance for the vehicle because of the milage. At this time the service advisor let Mrs. ******* know that the amount of the repairs would be in the $15000.00 ball park, and advised that it would take quite some time to complete these repairs. At this time the customer declined and opted to purchase something different. I personally do not feel as if anyone was taken advantage of, the customer did not complete sales transaction until the 15th,two days later as it was a challenge to obtain lending for Mrs. ******** At any point in time Mrs. ******* could have gotten a second opinion or found another dealership to do business. We were transparent from service to sales.
