Lake Appliance Repair charged over $650 for a washer repair on 3/27/24 that did NOT actually repair the washer. Due to travel, the washer was not used after the alleged repair until last week and the washer does not work. Lake is refusing to take responsibility for the failed/incomplete repair (essentially not willing to honor their own warranty) unless I agree to pay $150+ for another service call just to come out to re-assess the repair that they claim they already made. They state that I only had 30 days to notify them of the issue. I was not aware that the washer was not actually repaired during that 30 day period because the washer was not used during that period. Please see the attached chronology/summary and e-mail I sent to Lake Appliance Repair.

It appears this complaint was filed before we reached a final resolution with *** ******* We provided a free virtual diagnosis to *** ****** on October 11, 2024, and reordered the previously replaced part for no additional fee (our company warranty covers this), we then sent a technician to the residence to replace the part, however, this did not resolve the current issues with the appliance. *** ****** decided to no longer proceed with the repair and Lake Appliance repair did process a refund for *** *******

It is always our goal to fix every customers ********************** correctly the first time. While we did try to provide this for *** ******** washing machine, we were not able to to achieve that this time.

lake appliance came and "repaired" my washer in sept 2023 while under warranty. warranty expired in november which lakes appliance knew. the drum would not stay straight when it tried to spin if it did spin leaving my clothes soaking wet bc it couldnt spin correctly. they came and replaced the part. now my machine is doing the samething leaving me without a washer. parts dont go bad like this so soon they admitted that one phone. the manager who was very rude raised his voice the whole phone call began to tell me you have to pay full price for the fix i will not making any money if you dont and if i fix it now for you then i will have to give you my 5 yr warranty and be out more money i dont want to do that, you are not the client the warranty company was so beings that you have to pay full price especially since its not under warranty. he is charging me the price of a new washer for something that was a faulty part they put in and wont fix their parts mess up bc its not in warranty anymore and he wants paid to do it. he told me to contact my warranty company bc in past hes had to a few times get them to pay for a one time service for this same situation, knows how to work the system if you ask me. my warranty will not pay for it, the one time he is talking about is for something like this that happens within one month of the repairs once again showing he knows how to s**** the system. my washer isnt even 4 yrs old, i a single mom and cant afford to fix this s**** up i did nothing wrong now have NO washer to do laundry for my kids or myself. upon all of this happening talking to other folks in my area ,some family they have had the samething thing, experience from lake appliance, theres has also been reviews on their page of others turning them in to BBB for this or similar. i really believe my washer wasnt fully fixed properly so this would happen. and now being told to bad so sad pay us or we wont make money is wrong to do 2 anyone taking advantage of people.

Lake Appliance Repair does strive to provide long lasting repairs. When a customer utilizes us for their out-of-warranty repairs, we do supply a 1 year parts and labor warranty, as well as a 5 year parts warranty. However, ******************** received service through her extended warranty company in September 2023; the warranty has since expired. Our contract lies with the warranty company and not with the appliance, just as ************************ contract lies with her former warranty company and not with Lake Appliance Repair. We explained this to ******************** in detail.

Now that ******************** is outside of the warranty period she is responsible for any and all repair charges. If ****************** contacts Whirlpool, they may be willing to provide a concession.
