I worked at Club Pilates for about four months from the end of January through mid-May 2024. The owner, *******************, called me on the morning of Tuesday May 21 and fired me out of the blue. She accused me of stealing from her, which was untrue. She also did not provide me with my final pay check the day that I was terminated, which is a law in *******. I did not received my paycheck until the following Friday, via our payroll system. Legally, the company should not have accessed my bank account, even for a deposit, after I was terminated. I still have a commission paycheck that has not been paid out to me, though I was terminated a week ago. After much thought and conferring with a friend, I emailed *** letting her know the seriousness of her accusations and legal ways to proceed with final payments. She rescinded the theft accusations and changed to saying that I violated "studio policy." I never once received an employee handbook that spelled out any studio policies whatsoever. Typically when a company gives you an employee manual or handbook or any type, they require you to sign paperwork stating that you received and reviewed the material. I was never given a handbook and never signed any paperwork acknowledging the receipt of a handbook. I believe ******************* is an unorganized and unfair business owner. From the day I met her I could tell she liked to play the victim and always thought people (even the members of the studio) were against her or "mean" to her. She lets her delusional thinking sway her rational thought. I believe I was terminated unfairly. A good business owner would have spoken with an employee, explained the mistake, maybe put them on probation or given a warning. *** blind-sided me and when I explained my confusion and apologized for my misunderstanding, she accused me further of "knowing exactly what I was doing." I dont think *** will last long as the owner of the Bozeman-location Club Pilates franchise.
