    Recently paid half up front to get my roof torn off and re-done. The craftsmanship and quality is all wrong. The roof has staples in it, which is a big no no. Addressed the issues with the owner of the company. He admitted it was of poor quality multiple times but wouldn't leak. I asked for a refund because their craftsmanship was not to standard. I was told to lawyer up and the conversation ended.

    Re:  ****************************** Project.  I have been roofing in the ****** area for approximately 48 years with a very good reputation with our clients.  First, I would like to stress that during the re-roofing project, I asked my lead man if *** was happy - he said yes.  The job was basically finished and then he became upset.  I met with *** at 9"00 a.m. on 4/3/24.  It appeared that he was just looking for an argument or for me to say something I shouldn't.  I believe he was recording the conversation which I should have been notified.  I did see areas that could have been installed more efficiently and aesthetically; valley hip ridge and soffit.  My lead man was on site with me to make repairs to make the client happy.  His response was "we are not craftsmen enough to make the repairs."  We would not be in business all these years if our work has not been acceptable.  

     

    Again, we would be more than happy to make the repairs necessary; however, I'm not sure what would make the client happy at this point.  He was adamantly opposed to us making the repairs or paying any additional money that is owed.  The gutters have been installed and I don't believe he had an issue with those; however, I presume he won't pay for those either.  He paid a deposit of $11,500.00 on 3/15/24 and owes an additional $16,113.00.  As a business owner, what are my rights?  Until recently, we have not experienced clients who expect something for nothing.  We have always stood behind our work but in this case, the client is not willing to let us make the repairs.

    I am rejecting this response because you know you skated straight over rot. I know I've had two inspectors out thus far. One from ProTech Steel...the manufacturer. Turns out they have discrepancies too. Not just a naive homeowner *****. Just an honest man who wants honest craftsmanship.
