    On or about August 16, 2022, we needed to locate an eyecare facility to see about an exam for current eye wear. Because our health care insurance provider required in network facilities for coverage, we called our provider to see if Ravalli Eyecare was in net. We then called directly to Ravalli Family Eyecare and they said they were in net. We made an appointment for August 16, 2022. Which we kept. Our purpose for ********* was to be closer to our home. We expected and received a usual exam and they ordered glasses per our prescription. We requested a copy of billing for the exams. We were told that the computer was down and it couldn't be produced. After the glasses came in we returned for adjustment. We asked what we owed and were informed that ***** was paid and they were waiting to get my portion shortly.Four months later in December, we received a bill from Ravalli Family Eyecare for $188.23. We called Ravalli Family Eyecare for an explanation and were told that this the amount of our deductible. Being completely foreign to us we called our carrier. They too said it was for deductible but after several inquiries and several customer service people, we finally were able to ascertain that Ravalli Family Eyecare was in network and the exam should have been covered with a lesser amount for deductible. It was finally discovered that the ******* *** **************************** OD, who probably owns Ravalli Family Eyecare, was Off Net. As we understand, he is the only doctor at the business. We were never told he was off net and furthermore, he never mentioned it at the time of exam. I did not notice anything different from many previous exams. As it was, ********************** charged me $274.00 for my same exam, which was 3 times *****'s. Evidently, being off net he could charge me differently from on net. Of course our provider didn't know until December 19, 2022 that he was off net and only paid 30% of the billing. We were billed for 70% of the billing.

    I spoke directly with **** concerning this visit.  He and his wife have different medical diagnoses and thus different needs upon exam and correspondence with his primary care physician.
