I booked this hotel/inn for a cabin with kitchen and two beds, through *********** and paid in full directly to the hotel via credit card on 5/10/24 for the stay June 27 arrival, departure July 3, 2024. $1823.28 was chared to my card that day. Upon arrival, the cabin was filthy - floors, carpet, curtains, bathroom etc. and I asked for a different room which was provided at the inn. For this change in size and separate bedroom, I accepted their verbal offer of a $400 refund. During the course of the first three days of the stay, the manager (**** ******) had to provide multiple amenities since they were absent - towels, hair dryer, space heater, operating TV, internet, coffee pot and more. On our last full day, we were heating english muffins (very low heat/no toaster oven) on a cookie sheet and the grease on the bottom of the oven started on fire. The oven was not cleaned before our stay. Because of all the issues we encountered, at the time of checkout on July 3, the manager promised an $800 refund to my credit card. Having not received the refund to my CC, I called and talked by phone with manager, **** ******, who stated she would have the $800 credit processed to my credit card. This was on 7/23/24 I still have not received the credit. I have called every number I can find for this hotel/inn, left messages and sent an email to **** at *************** No response and no refund. ****************.845.5565;406.247.0439; 406.247.0057 I've already reported this to ***********, but there was little they could do other than try to reach staff which they were unable - all numbers are not answered or ask you to call back or leave a message. Please help.Initial Complaint

I am writing concerning my stay at Dancing bear inn from August 29 to 31. Not only was the cabin I reserved in poor condition, not at all in accordance with the description, the inn charged me twice: once when I reserved and again when we arrived. They do not answer my repeated messages and refuse to refund the extra illegal charge. I am enclosing the scans from my two bank statements corresponding to the two payments. Many thanks **** *****Initial Complaint

On June 3, 2024, I made reservations for a room. I was told that it was refundable. I tried to cancel my reservations, and nobody answers the phone. There are so many numbers associated with this hotel. I tried all numbers listed and have been unable to speak with anyone. I finally got through one time and when I said I wanted to cancel my reservations the guy who answered the phone hung up on me.Initial Complaint

We searched online and found Dancing Bears Inn in ************ and on 03/25/24 we booked 3 nights July ***** for one of their rooms with a kitchenette. They did not send an email confirmation after the reservation, which seemed unusual. We then tried to call the phone number to confirm and the number was disconnected. We found another phone number and it didn't work either. The email address on their website bounced back. We then did further research and saw terrible reviews and that other people got scammed out of their money from the same business in similar ways. The cancellation policy on the website was 60 days, but we have no confirmation number and no way of contacting the business to cancel. We checked the credit card and they did bill $800. 2 weeks later (04/10/24) another $800 charge showed up on the credit card. We have cancelled the credit card now. We are out $1,600, which is much more than the original reservation and still have no way to contact the business and no room reservation.Initial Complaint

My husband and I stayed at this establishment Thursday June 15th until Friday June 16th. This place was an absolute nightmare. The room looked nothing like they advertised. First of all there was no place to Park on the property. We managed to Park by our window in case someone tried to brake into our car. The area was very sketchy. The place was dilapidated, we paid for a king *** we got two full size lumpy ***s, with two different comfortables. They lied and said they had WiFi. Half the room had no electricity. The room was very cold. They had a very small electric heater. One of ***s was blocking the closet. The kitchenette was disgusting. There was f**** in the toilet. We slept on top of the comforter with our clothes on. Their ad said they had a Spa, WiFi,Parking, breakfast, Laundry, turn down service, fire pit and Garden. They had none of these things. Just learned that young hikers checked in at night and was told their room was under maintenance however they could stay at a house. They was almost rob***. The police was called. Unbelievable! We paid $150.20 through Expedia. We have tried to contact them several times with no avail! Can Not believe this place is allowed to do this to consumers! They no longer have a website domain! Our confirmation was24887185 and Expedia itinerary **************Initial Complaint

Paid for 1 room with 2 Double beds on 5/25/22, reserved for 8/23-8/25/22 - Expedia receipt charged $431.98. My Chase credit card statement has a $475.98 from Dancing Bears Inn.-Arrived to Dancing Bears Inn on 8/23 to be told that my room was under maintenance. Woman running the hotel told me were no other rooms to offer, but could be upgraded to a house offsite. Was told to follow her in her car. ***** following HER car, but she pulled off and told us to follow this man we had not met in a red Durango up this steep unpaved road. Decided to turn around. As we did, a white pick up truck pulls right behind us not allowing us to pass. First asking us if we were lost, and then realizing that we were trying to get away, started putting his truck in reverse TO HIT OUR CAR TWICE. We managed to pull away onto a paved road quickly and informed police. The trooper who came already had an idea who this individual was that hit our car and called for backup. He did not want to get closer knowing this person had guns. Filed report with police on the hit of my rental vehicle.- Dancing Bear never notified of the new status of paid room. Had to scramble for hotel booking in ********** (nearly 2 hours away) with police due to poor cellular service -Called Dancing Bear Inn 8/27 and left voicemail. Have not heard back. -This place is extremely unsafe and clearly fraudulent.Initial Complaint

We booked for the dancing bears inn and it said 10 am check in we got there at 11 and they said we have to wait till 3, when we finally got the room it smelled musty and moldy. Giving my daughter with asthma a attack. When we asked about the Continental breakfast and wifi like on there website they said sometimes for breakfast they serve toast and coffee but the coffee and toaster broke. The wifi didnt work so we were moved to the sister hotel the rising sun. The ac spit water on our stuff and causing the walls to be damp and floors to be soaked. Next to it was the microwave which can only be plugged in half way causing a shocking hazard with the ac spitting water, there was no hot water. The coffee machine had stagnant water in it, the sink was broke. When we asked for a refund for the 2 days we did not stay they said no and gave us numbers to call. The first and second one was out of service, the third after calling texting and leaving voice mails several times they disconnected the numberInitial Complaint

I booked a hotel stay for my husband, son, and family friend for Dancing Bears for Monday June 27, 2022-Thursday June 30, 2022. The reservation was for 3 nights, 1 room, 2 adults and 1 child. Total paid in full was $476.17. My husband checked in at the front desk, got the key, and proceeded to the room. Once entering the room, he noticed there was no screen on the exterior window and the window was open. The room had 1 bee flying around and 1 dead bee on the bed. The room looked as though it had been stayed in but not cleaned. It had soiled spots on the carpet from what we assume are pets, garbage under the beds, and hair in the bathroom. My husband went to the front desk to ask for another room and was told they were fully booked. My husband informed them that our 12-year-old son is allergic to bees, and we carry an epi pen with us for that purpose therefore, we cannot stay in this hotel room for potential adverse health issues related to bees being present in the room. When he asked about the screens missing from the windows, he was informed that another hotel guest was upset with them and slashed all their screens. The desk clerk offered to call around to find my husband a hotel room with their "sister hotels." My husband loaded the car back up and went back to speak with their clerk, but she was nowhere to be found. He could not find anyone present at the hotel to help him return the key and find another place to stay so he left the key with a p****** child running around the property that said his dad worked there. My husband ended up driving over an hour to another hotel to sleep for the remainder of those days. We have spoken to a woman at the hotel named ********************* *************) on July 6th, 11th, 12th, August 1st, and August 2nd. On July 12th we were told they were issuing us a refund and would see it in **** days. On August 1st ****** said they have yet to issue a refund per owner instructions to hold all refunds.
