Am still flabbergasted at the poor communication exhibited by this company. Not only poor communication, but just short of straight up dishonesty. We were told there would be a ******************** meeting the night before our trip, but, nope, they had a wedding that weekend so never mind. It was like pulling teeth to get even the most basic information. I would have brought my own bear spray, but their gear list said they provided it. Again, nope. Their explanation was that a guest had sprayed one of them. The food was just awful. Many basic items were forgotten like jams so we could, at the very least, have the option of PBJs. One of us was screamed at when she asked if the coffee was going to be ready ( everyone was awake)The tents we had to set up completely by ourselves ( I only include this because 3 out of 5 of our group had never ever set up tents) The tents were cheap, old and broken. My sleeping bag was wet in a ********* had to use garbage bags to patch it. When I lay out several thousand $ on a trip I expect a bit of care & respect. Every one of the guests in our group felt straight up disdain from these outfitters. It was almost as if we were annoying ********* were spectators on their private trip. Ive never experienced anything like it in my life, & Ive travelled the world. (I also am a fifth generation rancher so understand outfitting )The stock were generally well cared for & I loved my horse. There were others who were not matched well at all with their ********** made the trip miserable for them. Staff didnt give a fig if we were happy or not. That is exactly the vibe that permeated this trip. I will be back to the *** again, but will hire outfitters who care about my business.

Regarding this outfitter's offer for Bugle Elk hunts:Not a real elk ****. It's about expectations. If they had been honest with us and said we likely wouldn't even see an elk then I wouldn't have been so disappointed (no one in our camp saw one, the outfitter only harvested one elk this entire season). When we expressed our frustration, our entire group was cursed and ridiculed. I have hunted elk for years; I know what the habitat looks like that has had elk living in it--they are not a subtle animal. There are extremely few elk living in this vast wilderness, and not for years. I know because we rode and hiked for miles from sun-up to sun-down looking (almost 11 miles on foot first day, not to mention miles on the horses). This is why our guides had no idea where to look for them. There was definitely evidence of wolves, with them howling all around us. They market the **** as a 'bugle' ****. Our cook (*****'s mother, who was lovely and an excellent cook) said she hadn't heard elk bugling in years, due to the wolves. If you are going for elk, then read only the elk reviews (not horse trip reviews--if I had gone just for a horse trip I would have been happy). Check the Better Business Bureau. Look at the harvest statistics for this unit. And ask the outfitter exactly how many elk they have harvested the last couple years (they told me they didn't know how many last year). All the evidence will reveal that this is not a good place to harvest an elk

******** Was sold a guided backcountry elk **** September 23 - ******************************************* purchase price. What I got was poor food with unhealthy preparation and coffee or water for drink. Lunch was a ham sandwich which was lacking substance and 2 pieces of fruit.Lodging consisted of a wall tent that was partially covered with a tarp, uneven floor which was a tarp covering a 5 foot wide depression and a hump under one of the old and broken down cots. The wood stove was old and not leveled with a chimney pipe that was bent going through the roof with an opening that was twice the size of the pipe. There was no firewood, other than wet sticks and branches found in the surrounding *****, to heat the tent or to just warm up. One of the corners of the tent was 6-8 off of the ground. There was no fire wood in the camp for a bonfire or warmup tent other than the few pieces to heat the cooks tent at mealtime. There was no shower or fresh water to clean up in. The toilet area was very unsanitary and broken down. With all of this there was NO game animals observed over the week by any of the 3 groups of hunters and no sign fresher than 2 weeks old. The guides were very good with the animals and familiar with the area however they seemed to know there were no animals in the area. We were taken to several beautiful areas which should have held animals but upon spotting for several hours a day still no animals. With the conditions available and the lack of ANY animalsANY animalsI do not believe I received what was promised or provided. This is unacceptable according to the information provided in the contract.

Anything ***** says is a lie. Showed up he acted like he didnt know we were coming or elk season even was. It was unseasonably hot but he said no problem with where we were going, not an issue The morning we left out the horse wrangler had a mini rodeo with one of the pack horses. The did look very skinny for the most part and they had to eat like feral horses once in there. First day out it became obvious that the guides my wife and I had as we went our separate ways had no idea of where the game was, after a week still no idea. The trails back there had been covered by dead fall and with a bow very challenging to say the least. The guide said you have to be tough and want it and I asked do you think your going to make all this noise and sneak up on game like this. It was that day we were informed that elk back in the *********************** did not bugle due to predators game( wolf bear big cat). no resident game just passing through game, meanwhile I climb **** ft to glass 3 huge sloops. I asked the guide he did realize I had a bow and something a mile or two, did nothing for me. Sadly I watched this whole area and didnt even see a deer. The sign we did see was very old to include moose and bear. After a week we asked to leave early as this had been an entire waste of time. On the way out one of the guides got thrown from her horse less than 50yrds from camp. I should have know then it was going to be dangerous and long ride out. That guide had walked her horse for a few miles before half way and my wife had to get off due to her horse acting up by falling back then run foward. The guide said it was because the horse was lazy. With 4 miles to go it finally took off and my wife was thrown. We walked the rest of the way out as we didnt want to risk more harm from these feral horses. After returning to ****** home he never showed himself, what a joke he is. Dont waste your tag or money horse trader is all he is. We will seek to warn other hunters. We will seek justice

What was promised was not delivered . This outfitter was highly unprofessional .The quality of the service , the quality of the food and the behavior of the lead wrangler were as poor as quality as one could possibly provide .The saddles were not fitted to the riders . Mine was too small . When I inquired I was told "you get what you get ". The tents that were provided had holes so when it rained which it did we had puddles in the tent and our gear got wet . We were told upon arrival to the camp that we were bunking with others in the group. That was never conveyed to us prior .The behavior from the lead wrangler to one of the guest was hostile . The situation did not need the infusion of emotion that this unprofessional wrangler added . It could have been handled with a clarification discussion . He mad sure it was never an option . When I asked to leave halfway through the week I was taken out and left at base camp . The agreement was they would pick up their guest and drop them at the airport . I was 100 miles from **************** to find my own way . The most professional part of this organization was the website .That was most likely done by someone outside of the organization .My experience was a lot of money and time wasted . I would never recommend this outfitter .
