Approximately June 6, 2024 I went in for eye exam which was care in the community through the VA and after the eye exam I met with an optician to pick frames and lenses. I got glasses there before and I told her I wanted same but I wanted to add anti glare. She did the pricing and it was around $450 dollars in addition to what VA was paying. I thought that was high compared to what I paid last year. I told her I also have VSP insurance and she said it was cheaper through **. I listened to her and paid the inflated amount. My glasses came in and I picked hem up but when I was home and outside the lenses did not tint. This was a Friday and they were closed. So I went in the next business day and they said I could add a transition lenses for another $180. I said that does not make sense I would be paying almost $700 and my frames were only $120. So a new clerk ***** calculated usin VSP insurance and my cost was $287 total. They would owe me a credit but he could not do anything because only the business manager could do anything. I asked to talk to the owners who I think last name is ***** and are optometrist but you cant talk with them. They said that they could not use my insurance. Since they billed VA. I feel they are using two price list and committing some fraud. They make agreement with vVA to treat on a price schedule but then want to charge addition amount on a different pricing schedule. The veteran is there on same visit and pay schedule should not change. I would like BBB to contact owners on pricing and to get resolved I would use my VSP to pay for the glasses and never go back to them.

I am rejecting this response because:  The main problem is that the employees were not trained and the form they had did not include a spot to mark transition lenses.  The second employee used initials TR for that purpose which is not on the original paperwork at all.  In addition employee gave false information on billing amounts and tried to collect more by using the wrong insurance that pays more.  Then you have no way to talk or discuss with owner.  The business manager was given incorrect information from employees.  Staff is either ender trained or not competent.

    Sincerely,
